I received my new ( used, but new to me) BSA Sportsman HV last Thursday and have put about 200 pellets through it so far. I LOVE this gun. It's light, accurate, extremely quiet because of the shroud and depinger, and its a multi-shot. I haven't been able to sight it in on paper to determine just how accurate it is, but I have hit a Snapple lid over and over at 40 yards. I mounted my Centerpoint 4-16X scope on it.
I took two crows with it today, so I got my first kill with it already. ;D
The guy I purchased it from (off American air guns classifieds) told me that he chronied the first 10 shots and they average 860fps.
I'm curious how many shots I should be able to get from it with a full fill before the POI changes? Does anyone have experience with this gun?
Any other info would be greatly appreciated. This is my very first pcp and I still have a lot to learn.
I tried to post pictures of the gun, but can't figure it out. I'm using a Mac and not sure if that has anything to do with it. I clicked on "insert image" but only get this.....(http://)
I also tried copy/pasting them as well as dragging and dropping them.
What am I doing wrong? I resized them all so they're less than 200kb.

click reply button at bottom of the post. there will be a link "additional options". this will allow you to browse your cpu files to add a pic.. ;D may look a little different on your mac. ;D

Woah, is that a custom shroud?
-
Yes I suppose it is. I purchased it like this. Full barrel shroud and depinger installed as well. I don't know where the work was done. I was told by the seller that it was quieter than his marauder....I've not shot a marauder but this thing is virtually silent!
I love it! I haven't seen another one like it. I wouldn't have purchased it without a shroud because I wanted something very quiet and backyard friendly.
-
Yea well they didnt make them with a shroud so it is definitely custom and looks very sweet
-
Thanks man! I thought so too. I always said that my first pcp would be a marauder but after seeing this thing and knowing that it was quieter, lighter, and CHEAPER than a Marauder.....I couldn't resist!
I just need to get more familiar with it and put a ton of pellets through it. :)

I hope it serves you well, BSA makes a great rifle, I just wish i could afford more of them

860 fps and 25 shots from 232bar fill is what BSA says http://www.bsaguns.co.uk/PDFS/BSA%20Export%20Brochure.pdf (http://www.bsaguns.co.uk/PDFS/BSA%20Export%20Brochure.pdf) The shroud is indeed aftermarket one, can you take a photo of the magazine retaining rod area of the shroud? I've been thinking of building one and would like to see how it was solved in your case.

looks as though you done well. great looking rifle you got there. ;D
-
Great looking gun! Nice job! If you ever want to a synthetic stock, the Gamo Dynamax one slips right on.
-
Looks like my old rifle :p
The shroud looks like it is a (@&^)(#^* shroud. And with a good de-pinger inside of her, they are very quiet.
With the FPS adjustment screw about half way in, I was able to get 30 shots though the rifle before any fall off.
-
wonder if it's your old rifle woogieman? How long ago did you sell it?
-
Well guess you can't say "his name" here.... sorry mods wasn't aware of that.
It was quite some time ago.... that and I was a moron and painted the stock :( Though I am still kicking myself for selling the rifle, as it was a great buy.
