Here is some pics of my Powerline 917 I picked up for $5 at a garage sale! I did not know it was a 917 when I bought it, I assumed it was just an old 880 that wasn't working but I wasn't going to leave behind. After researching the forum, it was cool to find out more info on this gun.
It had no cocking pressure when I bought it so I did a complete tear down, cleaning and replacing the O rings but this did not get the pressure to build. I ordered one of Ronno6 seal kits for older Daisy's and this got the gun back up and shooting. Ronno6 was extremely helpful and I thank him for making these kits to get these older guns back into shooting form. He told me the gun was made in November of 1980. From what I understand, the gun was only made for 3 years.
The gun is now shooting well and grouping as well as my newer China made 880. Overall the gun is in good condition, the stock is tight and the wood looks much better than the newer guns. The trigger on the 917 is a lot better as well. There is one paint flaking spot on the barrel but other that the guns is great. It even has the original speed loader. I have been shooting pest birds with it even though the speeds I am getting are around 600fps. My new model is more powerful, especially after installing the PBL power mod recommended by pblawler.
It has been great learning about the older airguns and to get one back up and shooting!
I tried uploading pictures but I could not get them to post?

Cool find! I wasn't aware that they existed. Now I want one...
This site has size restrictions on what can be uploaded. That may be why your pics won't upload.
Cheers,

Wow I had no clue there was a 917, or I forgot ??? I have the 922, paid a bit too much and had to reseal it, but that was for nostalgias sake as I had a couple when growing up.
