Title: GX Pump 5000 psi Compressor Air Filter
Post by: Rat Sniper (AKA: PaulT58) on May 17, 2025, 05:21:57 PM
I tried one of the new Air Filters offered by GX Pumps.  Thus far I am impressed with the build quality of the Air Filter and the innovative way it attaches to the compressor housing via magnets!

It came very well packaged in a nice sturdy box with plenty of foam packing to keep everything safe in transit.  It has a filter element installed, plus has an extra for later.  According to their website, this filter element is good for one year, so with the replacement, you essentially have two years before needing to purchase any additional maintenance items.  My set-up on my CS-4 was 2 fill whips with a small blue inline filter, the type that just used a single small cotton filter.  I did a deadhead test from 0 to 250 BAR using my original set-up and then a test with the GX Pump Air Filter installed.  The fill speed from 0 - 250 BAR with just the small blue filter was 47.05 seconds.  The fill time with the GX Pump Air Filter installed was 1 minute 37.48 seconds.  Less than a minute difference isn't too bad considering the difference in the size of the two filters.

I also topped off my Flash-R's 215cc air Cylinder from 200 BAR to 250 BAR and that only took 2 minutes and 27 seconds.  I've not tested it on any other airguns yet, but thus far I'm really liking it!

GX Pumps currently has them in Stock for $129.99.  No coupon code available at this time, but still a fair price given the build quality and included accessories.

Thanks for the thread Paul. This looks to be a lot more user friendly than the ginormous gold tuxing one I have. Specially being able to attach it to the compressor case while in use.

Another plus, it can be easily moved to another air compressor. The magnets allow it to be moved and mounted with no tools. It works equally well on my GX L3 when I’m away from home.

Some of those large, double cylinder gold filters need to be permanently mounted to the compressor. They also have a huge volume that really slows the fill process since you have to pressurize the filter cylinders before the gun’s air supply!

Great design and size, why did it take so long to come to market LOL almost small enough to work with a hand pump ???

Thay came and went once already. GX is just reintroducing them for half what I paid to Joe B. for mine.

Don't know. Nothing to indicate where.

I assume China. The GX is an almost exact copy. Or they got some of the parts from the OEM. I have a GX too, as a spare...

The cartridges are refillable.

Lifetime supply of sieve. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07W62755W?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title uses about 1/4 cup to refill. The GX may be a little less.

The GX  also has activated carbon in it. Not really needed. If I were to put mine into service I'd ditch the Carbon and replace it with sieve first.
