Everywhere I look 2240s are on backorder. Tariffs. maybe?
-
I believe the regular 2240 is discontinued. The new 2240XL might be available somewhere. That one comes with the steel breech and LW barrel too.

Well, step away from airguns for a few years and look what happens! The 2240 was always a favorite of mine. I hope I can find one somewhere. Seems the XL is in short supply too.

2240XL has a regular Crosman barrel.
It’s the 2300S that is equipped with a Lothar.

Looks like I will be looking for either a used 2240, or build one from parts. That's the fun part of these Crosman pistols/carbines.

Sky’s the limit 👍
One of my builds but it’s a 2250.

Whoops that's right. Where the heck did I read that...

Ok dude, you asked for it. Spill the beans! What are those sexy bits and where did you get them? More importantly, where can I get them?

They are Don Cothran parts, particularly the breech, tube, and barrel bands.
Trigger is a Blue Fork (NLA).
AR adapter is Gippeto’s (superb machinist and member of this forum) from Canada.
Got a couple of his pieces and this is the straight and non-offset one.

Wow, you're right... Crosman does sell out of product now and then, even on their own site, part of it is the extended china supply chain.
Most website show it's expected back in stock within a month or so, maybe they were just waiting for a pause in tariffs to import a bunch.
I can't imagine they discontinue this classic.
-
I bet they can find a factory here that could produce them.
-
The slow down is mostly due to the reorganization after the purchase by Daisy.
-
I had a feeling that the 2240 would be relegated to the "vintage air pistol" category. I have two 2240s, with one still in it's plastic clamshell box, and I have a slightly modded 2240XL with a red dot scope.

This one was mine.
I bought both of the power adjusters from Mellon Aire. I made a SSG for it, just remove the hammer spring adjuster and put this in.

Well the picture turned upside down, so I edited the picture and turned it upside down and downloaded it again, but it is still upside down!

They can be built.
I’d use a smooth tube as I don’t really like those with ugly stamp marks.
Hmm, I don’t actually have a 22xx tube with a stamp mark.
-
Nice rig, Hunter. What kind of performance and shot count are you getting?

Nice stuff, if a bit pricey. I'm not that picky. I can get by with Ebay specials lol

:'(
Can we please rewind back to before the world got all stupid.

Agreed!

George, you should get the kit today or tomorrow. If you use the red dot then it will need a battery, I don’t recall the size, 2016 maybe. You will need to install the spring and spread and guide. Just install it into the Mellon Air power adjuster, screw it in until it seats. You should have a little bit of space for the hammer to slide fire and aft a bit. If not then remove the spring and guide and shorten it a little.
The extra long power adjuster you’ll u can sell if you want, I think it was about $30 or so.

It should arrive tomorrow. Post office is being slow as usual. I'll try to figure that out once I have it. Thanks again!
