Title: 2015 Diana 350 NTEC
Post by: LWR58 on May 10, 2025, 10:23:37 PM
I’ve got one here that has leaked out

I can’t seem to remove the strut from the trigger housing

What’s the knack? I’ve done them before and had no trouble

The new 2023 strut is threaded

Thanks

This model should have never been made.

The initial tests proved that the vibrations were strong enough to loosen the gas spring from the retaining nut in the trigger housing, with severe consequences. The thread blocker AND the torque used makes it practically impossible to remove with normal procedures.

You WILL need to completely disassemble the trigger, and once the block is separated, using a spotting drill you will need to spot the center of the stem from the rear, and then you will need to drill out the threaded part of the gas spring's stem. This is best done in a lathe.
Once the "core" of the threaded part of the stem has been drilled out, the stem can be grasped with locking pliers and turned, holding the housing in the lathe.
Do use some padding to hold the housing in the lathe's chuck because it is pressure molded aluminum.

IF you do run into problems and the holding nut is damaged, you can fashion one from a M8 nut.

Sorry for your troubles.
