Title: Avenge-X Cylinder Pressure Guage Does Not Read Past 3K PSI?
Post by: mwgm2020 on May 10, 2025, 07:19:28 PM
I've got a new Avenge-X Classic and the gauge will not read past 3K.  This is the tank side not the reg side gauge.  My SCBA tank and fill adaptor gauges are showing +4K PSI but the gun's gauge does not show past 3K PSI.  I have filled the gun multiple times and the guns gauge will not go past 3K.

Any suggestions?  I've emailed Pyramyd's CS with this issue and am waiting for a reply.

Yup new gauge should fix the issue.

Steven , just saw this post. As James said , a new gauge will probably solve the issue. I had a BSA (gauge) that went wacky , it looked as though it was almost
empty & would not register as the gun was refilled. One call to AOA and a new one was sent. Installed the new gauge & all good.

I've got a semi-funny story about this issue.  I've been using an eBay fill adaptor for my 3K PSI guns.  It has a bit of a leak from the vent valve.  The Avenge-X is a 4300 PSI tank so I'm trying to fill past the usual 3K but that gun's gauge only showed to 3200 PSI each time I filled it.  So, I figured the gauge has the problem.  I just bought a Stickman SCBA fill adaptor and the first time I used it the fill the Avenge-X the gauge went up to 4K which is want the tank and Stickman gauges said was the pressure.

So, I guessing going past 3K using the eBay adaptor with the increased pressure was too much for the leak and it would fill the gun and stopped at 3.2K.

I let Pyramyd CS know what I found and apologized for taking up their time.

I have to say the Stickman is a really nice piece of equipment.  You can even cascade fill from multiple bottles.
