My weird idea is to use heatshrink on a Crosman 2289 barrel, mostly to cover up imperfections and give it a matt custom look. Has anyone tried that? If you have, what size did you use?

Don't recall shrink wrap but I do remember seeing one with a peel and stick sheet of carbon fiber wrap. Seems like he said he got it from the auto supply store. It looked good.
Thx

Heat shrink about 50% bigger than the diameter of what you want to heat shrink. I have vinyl comes in many colors / patterns, carbon fiber look that is heavy gage off the amazon, it can be slightly shrunken with heat for a snug fit.

I haven't tried it but google for heat shrink fishing rod wraps and you'll get interesting colors and patterns. Maybe other hobbies wrap stuff too -- pool cues, golf clubs...
Of course the automotive vinyl wrap stuff could be an option too.

I thought about doing it on a springer but never got around to actually trying it.
