What size punch is needed to remove that roll pin so I can remove the pump arm on my 1322? That thing is stubborn and I don't have a small enough punch to push it out.

Go to a bicycle shop and get a chain break tool.
Or this from Harbor Freight.

I also struggled with roll pins until I bought a set of roll pin punches. It was definitely worth it.

I mangled some non-airgun (old pallet jack at work) roll pins several years back. Effort was large and painful for something that should have been VERY EASY because I didn't have the right tools.
About a decade later when some airgun roll-pin work popped up I decided to get the PROPER TOOLS for the job. Did NOT want to mangle my airguns.
This set was ~$11 when I bought it. A MUST HAVE for roll-pin work.

Also got one of these for airgun work.

Recently picked up an arbor press to provide more firm persuasion.

I don't have this set but price is low and sizes seem useful.

edit: The low cost arbor presses are VERY crudely cast and assembled. A little cleaning, filing, sanding, adding some plastic washers/spacers and some good quality grease makes a BIG difference. Very similar to "tuning" an airgun ;-)

I have a saying at work.. "Today's sacrificial tool is...."
Use a drill bit of the right size...slightly smaller than the O.D. but larger than the I.D. of the roll-pin... shank to the roll pin and knock it out.

I found that a cheap Hockey Puck with various size holes drilled in it makes a great pad to lay the gun on and catch the pins when driven out with a pin punch. It's just soft enough to protect the tube while hammering on the pin. I put back solid pins with C clips and never use the roll pins in a gun.
-
I have a couple sections of 2x4 that I have been using for supporting the tube for years. I have an airgun tool kit that includes the pin punch among other common airgun tools/lubes.

Starters can be handy too, easier to hold, can save your fingers;

You can find cheaper sets on Amazon or Walmart.

Success! I got a nice little roll pin punch set and that roll pin didn't have a prayer! Thanks for all the advice.

You'll find more uses for them besides just roll pins. I have a small set and a large set.
