Post by: Goldenkey2025 on May 09, 2025, 01:29:02 PM
Been shooting my Air rifles for 45 years, but want to add to my collection.
I have a Webley Vulcan and a Weirauch HW80, so you guys know which way I llean... springers.
Looked at a R1 and a C1...
What else should I consider getting?

In my opinion.... any thing that starts with an "R"
But I am partial to the R10 "Son of R1"  and an R11 (HW98).

I have an R9 I bought cheap. All beat up. Looks like it was drug down a gravel road behind a p/u truck. 99% of the bluing is gone. Lot of the stock is bear wood. I think someone camoed the gun then changed their mind. Holes touching accurate, 900fps+ w/ 8.3 grs RWS Miester. wadcutters. I haven't touched the stock. Not worth re-bluing. I spray painted the metal flat black. Looks matted like my 56th, 470th and 350pc. It's a keeper.

As noted already, Beeman's "R" rifles are all Weihrauch products and worth having. They sold a couple other nice HW products under their original names - HW 35 and HW 77. The P1 pistol (known as HW 45 elsewhere) is another fine Weihrauch product.

I personally like the Webley Hurricane and Tempest pistols, and Vulcan and C1 Carbine rifles.

Beeman also imported many fine springer match guns: FWB 65, 80, and 90 pistols, and 300-series rifles.

In his early days, Beeman imported Diana guns for a while; they might have either the "Beeman's Original" marking or plain "Beeman" mark accompanied by new model numbers, but those are rare.

A Doc Beeman (Webley Scott) Tempest or Hurricane pistol is on my bucket list!

Good grief...I completely forgot to mention my favorite of all Weihrauch rifles, the HW 55 target rifle. Beeman imported many of those too, always under their original name.

Beeman also brought in the HW 30 and old-style HW 50 sporters under their original names, in the days before they morphed into the R7 and R8, repectively. And the re-designed, current "HW 50," originally called the HW 99, was briefly seen here as the Beeman R6.

Any guns that Beeman imported, even if they didn't get a new name, can be indentified by a small stamping somewhere on the action; the wording of those varies.
