Hello,
my name is Philipp, I am from Germany and I am new here...
A friend of minge gave me an obviously very old air rifle. It has some chinese and some latin markings, the latin marking is "Pioneer No. G6432".
The buttstock has a stamped marking, it seems to be "610".
It is a .177 calibre rifle and we have determinded a muzzle velocity of approximately 165 m/s or 540 ft/s.
I discovered, that this rifle may be a chinese B1 rifle from company SAG, which was sold under a different name. Is that correct?
There is only very little information on the internet, so I am looking for some further information, especially the time or period of manufacturing due to the weapon law here in Germany.
Can anyone give me some furter information, please?

Your rifle appears to be a Chinese B-1. These rifles have been exported since at least the 1990’s. They were made by several different factories in China and were sold under different brand names like “Golden Lion” or “white Tiger”. Quality varies. Yours looks like one of the better ones. Dating one of these is difficult but as a general rule of thumb crude guns are older and well finished guns are newer. Judging by the amount of metal fixtures (as opposed to plastic) I would say that this is an older gun possibly from the mid 90’s.

Thanks a lot for this information!
In my opinion, the quality of this rifle is not as bad as I expected it from such a low budget rifle and, apart from the horrible trigger, it shoots well.
I figured out, that Shanghai Airgun Factory was established in 1957 and that this company was the first, that produced airguns in China.
And, as far as I know, the B1 is a copy of the german Diana 23, which whas been produced from 1951 to 1983 and the stock of my rifle looks very similar to the stock of the Diana 23, that has been produced from 1951 to 1965. And according to the age of my rifle, I am wondering, that a mid-90's version has no 11mm-rail.

Your gun appears not to have scope grooves on top of the receiver. No scope grooves means it's pretty old. 540 fps is about right for that gun.

Hello lefteyeshot,
yes, that is right, there is no rail/there are no scope grooves on top of the receiver.
When did these rails generally become standard?

No idea.
