I just received this from Amazon:
How Amazon is improving packaging and reducing waste.
I just received this from Amazon:
How Amazon is improving packaging and reducing waste.
- Delivered without any packaging: In 2023, we shipped 12% of our orders globally without any additional Amazon packaging.
Our first priority is to remove packaging altogether when possible and we’ve found that sometimes the best solution is to use what already exists. Our Ships in Product Packaging program tests and certifies products that can ship safely to customers in their original manufacturer’s packaging—without an additional Amazon box, envelope, or bag. This minimizes the packaging used for delivery and allows packages to take up less space in delivery vehicles, increasing our truck fill rate.
If you have EVER considered buying pellets from the ZON you may want to REconsider.

Dontcha just love it when a business masquerades as saving precious resources when the real reason is for them to cut corners?
I tell servers my drinks don't need straws, I'm good with motels/hotels/B&Bs not washing sheets every day, and I reuse bags, but I won't accept being pennywise and poundfoolish. Not gonna pay for good pellets to arrive damaged just because the big A's price is lower than someone else's.
Besides, it's the big A...I stopped buying from them 11 years ago and have no regrets, especially now.

I ordered 4 boxes of Crosman pellets about 4 years ago. Those were 177 caliber with 1250 pellets in each box. When it arrived two boxes were intact, one missing some, and one box had only 3 pellets in it.
I don’t think that Amazon should be so proud of that.

Learned my lesson on ordering pellets form Amazon long ago. They are the last place I would order then from unless it says "shipped from Pyramyd Air".

Yes Bill, the price is good and the shipping is great from our sponsor Pyramid Air.
Now if I could just come up with a use for those foam doughnuts. LOL

Yes, I received a non airgun related product from Amazon last night, shipped in just the original packaging. I would have liked to have kept the manufacturers box as it has pertinent info. Unfortunately it was of course all torn up, scratched and covered with labels..
I avoid Amazon more and more as time goes by, this is just one more reason. I've received so much broken and defective/previously returned merchandise it's not even funny. The amount of waste Amazon produces must be staggering. I'm trying to use them only if the price is too low to ignore and the item is eligible for free return.

I guess I'm in the minority regarding pellets from Amazon.
This "new?" shipping policy can work well for certain items that are not-too-heavy and already have a well-designed retail box. I have received a couple new inverter welding machines without any extra packing and they arrived in perfect condition. Several other items arrived intact in only their retail boxes.
Some items will NOT do well shipped that way.!
I'm not totally happy with Amazon shipping. Glass welding shades recently shipped in a padded envelope (broken of course) was a genius move. Airgun shipped loose in a flat-screen-TV sized box was also a big fail. Similar airguns shipped in TIGHT over-boxes arrived in perfect condition. I ordered some food items recently as 2 separate orders... one heavy items and one light items. Amazon grouped the 2 orders together in one large box with a couple wimpy air bags. Heavy items immediately popped the airbags made a mess of the light items. Another genius packing move. Depends a lot on who-ever is on the boxing line that day.
Airgun pellets through Amazon ARE a gamble, but I'll still play if the price is right.
If the individual tins are sold in CARDED blister packs and you order 10 or more tins they may arrive in undamaged condition. Over the last several years I've ordered many dozens of the carded CPHP 177, CPHP22, Daisy/Winchester177 hollow-point/round-nose/pointed, and other similar pellets. A couple dog-ears on the cards but all those tins were undamaged.
Many of the UNcarded tins I ordered through Amazon arrived dented with a couple BLOWN OPEN and the pellets spread throughout the box. I will still order carded pellet tins from Amazon WHEN then price is good. Right NOW I'm getting BEST pricing for the pellets I want from FieldSupply and WingSupply. Just received 24 "loose" tins with NO dents. Packing not as good as the GOLD STANDARD from Pyramyd/AGD, but better price right now and no shipping damage works for me.

I have had the same experience with Amazon bought pellets. The carded CPHPs are sometimes priced too well for me to ignore. :D

It's not just price that matters. There's the waste of all those unuseable pellets, not to mention having to ship twice to get what's needed. Unless you melt down for lead, why bother when other vendors pack much better? Most kinds of pellets aren't expensive enough to be worth the gamble and irritation.

Those foam donuts are a reuser's puzzle. I tried using them as backing inside very small pellet traps instead of layers of cardboard. The pellet stack boxes are the perfect size, LOL. But there IS that big hole in the middle. Ooooo, maybe just stick an empty pellet tin in there. With low enough power, pellets would hole the front and land inside the can. Need to duct tape the edges to prevent it from opening under inpact.

FYI... PA is no longer a GTA sponsor but they still are and always will be a great source for all things airgun.

I should have added that I've never had damaged carded CPHPs from Amazon. I avoid the rest of what they offer now. Placed a $95+ order for pellets at PA earlier this morning.
Cannot wait to add to my foam collection! :D

I just don't trust them not to slip some junk in on me. Just too many other options.

I just ordered a LI golf cart battery conversion for work 100+ Lbs. I should of tossed in a tin of pellets to see what happened :) I know the batteries are packed well so no issues there I hope LOL
