Guys
I have a new model Dragon Fly I - 22 cal.
It will be tested the same way as I did on the model II, as soon as I stop
the bbl leaking from the action.
I need to remove the front sight, so I can thread it for a LDC,
same as the Model II, as the Model II front sight will with minor work,
as it is way to LOUD for me, even with the leaking from the action.
Can the front sight be removed without damaging it?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
Tia

Yes, I've knocked them off with a block of wood and a rubber mallet.

When all else fails, get a hammer?

Yerp... or a torch.. ;)

Well, it easier than I thought to remove the front sight on the Dragon Fly I rifle.
I took a good solid piece of 2x4 x 18" long, drilled a just slightly larger hole than
the barrel diameter .470" =31/64" drill = .484".
Dropped the bbl into the hole with the sight down and clamped the bbl in the vice
straight up and down, with a couple of 2x4 blocks to securely hold the bbl,
smacked the 2x4 about 2" from the bbl with a 5# hammer several times
and the front sight fell off the bbl.
No marks or damage to the front sight, No marks on the barrel, the bbl was
reduced in size to .460" diameter and was 2.460" long, with a .300" wide
knurling band in the center of the 2.460" section.
There was NO Glue used, just a good tight friction fit.
