Another nice shot for Marty! I saw one today on my property , still at almost 50yrs I froze ( no gun) he looked and kept moving to cover.

Dave , Thanks ! And thanks again to my technical staff (Randall). This 'hog was taken at 52yrd.s at a slight downhill angle. I had previously zero checked the gun
at 42yrd.s . Coming away w/ about 1/2" high at that distance. Figured pretty close at 50. I had seen ( and missed) this guy (yep, he's not seeding any more)
before. I set up on some wrapped round bales for overwatch after the 42yrd shooting and saw a corn cob lying by the hole. I cranked the scope up to 24 power &
took a shot. The impact was inches short , so two clicks up and another shot hit the cob dead center! 52yrd zero confirmed! After about an hour & 1/2 of no show
I went home for lunch , cut the lawn & gabbed w/ the neighbor (manly stuff, yard grass weeds, etc). I headed back to the spot again late afternoon arriving just
as the field hand was rounding the back side of the machine shed with the tractor. This was good as it would pull the attention away from me as I drove up to the bales if the 'hog
was out. It worked perfectly! I set up on the bale, cranked the scope up , focused it and saw a head appear from the hole. I cocked the Ranger & as the 'hog
emerged , I lined up  between the eye & ear and sent the Apolo 18gr. Hunter pellet onward. The slap of the pellet came back with the critter sliding straight back
into the hole . I grabbed my walking stick and walked to the hole, I gave it one more in the noggin before I reached in to extract it for photos ( leather gloves on
for the ear grab :P of course).

Another fine harvest, congrats.   Yesterday I finally saw a couple of G-hogs feeding on the sides of the roads as  I was driving around doing errands and I also saw the large hog that lives under my sheds out feeding on my newly growing grass...... I'm looking forward to eliminating him and making some G-hog pot roast :)

Anyway, great shooting, great pic :)

Jeff , looking forward to after action report ! Wow guys, this day went to &^^& ! I got out to the farm by 8:30 this morning . Had a thermos of coffee, water & light
snacks. Settled in at my spot, & watched the eagle , ravens & red tail Hawk soar around me. Nice temp of 68 deg.s. Life is good! Weather check says light rain in
30min.s w/ wind gusts to 30mph & temp.s feeling like 40 deg.s. WHAT!  Out comes the extra shirt along w/ the coffee. Yeah, it started to spit rain & the wind
came on. Stayed till my eyes started watering from the wind & packed up at 11:20 for the trip back to the castle for some lunch & more coffee. ::)  G-hogs be
 darn !!
