Saw my first and only one on an auction site recently. Seemed the “buy it now” was a bit rich for me.

The Q/U 880 arrived yesterday.
Pretty good shape.
Not only the first 880 w/wood I have ever seen, but....
The only WALNUT stock I have ever seen on a Daisy pumper......

WOW !!

Sounds like a real beauty, awesome find. Unfortunately, the only site that seems to have substantial information and photos seems to be "Baker Airguns", but my computer is giving off all sorts of alarms, it's saying that the site is dangerous and contains malware.

Looking forward to your photos.

Glad it found a home with a member and I didn’t drive up the price by bidding against you.

I did not purchase this 880 from an auction.......I purchased from an owner who contacted me about a seal kit, but
didn't think he could do the job, nor think it would get used or be appreciated by his young-uns.........

What was the $$$$ on the one you were looking at??
Thanks.......

I would have bought that one for that price just to get the wood stock.  I guess I'll have to make one someday for my metal 880. It is shooting great with the parts from Ronno6.  I got the seal kit, brass bolt and adjustable pump piston that made a world of difference in this gun.  It's a keeper now for sure.  Wood instead of plastic would make it just about perfect for this metal/metal model 880.

Most wood furn is found on later 822's, sold as 22X or 22SG
Those had plastic pump handles......

I can make forearms.but have not as ted attempted to bore the thru-bolt hole
for the binder bolt.
I have bolts and mounting plates, just have not attempted stocks as yet.......

I only use the iron sights on the 880 so I would not make a Monte Carlo style stock as it is more suited to a scope. It's hard to get the eye level with the sights on the raised cheek piece of the plastic stock and needs to be a bit longer pull for me.  Ron, does the mounting plate you mention fit into the receiver like the shaped front of the plastic stock for the mounting bolt to go through?

The mounting plate is basically a flat plate, MAYBE 1-1/4" (+/-)square with the corners k knocked off.
then a hole drilled dead center for a 5/16-18 T-nut to be pressed in.
A 5/16-18 bolt about 5-1/4" long or  so goes thru a deep counter-bored hole thru the stock,
accessible from the butt. It passes thru the stock and emerges out the tang to screw into the plate.

I make then if you are ever in need............

Thanks Ron,  I will keep that in mind on the adapter as I am thinking about how to attach the buttstock. I have plenty of wood to choose from but have not figured out the easiest process on that attachment.

The Daisy method (same as Crosman) is the best.
Only problem is drilling that 3/8" hole from butt to tang.......

There is a good method shown on Youtube, I think.......

I gotta try it.....

I have a bunch of red grandis, a variety of eucalyptus to use if I can do this

That is a nice find Ron. But for anyone who still is looking for wood, and a .22 at that, I have and will be taking a shooting pair of Wood/Metal/plastic handle rifles to the show in hickory this year. i am letting you guys know here because i rather one of you get them first than someone not from the GTA community. I got a 977X and a 22SG in near perfect condition (the 977X has been shot maybe a dozen times) and the .22 is healthy and in good condition. there are small scuffs on some of the forearms (small, like 1/16 in.), and the metal is unmarked. I would like to sell them as a pair due to their rarity and how long it took me to get them together. And i was gonna price the pair at 200$ plus 1/2 shipping. If you guys are interested let me know. I can send pics, chrony numbers and such... just PM me.
