Title: 362 Stock Extension
Post by: Stretch67 on April 07, 2025, 02:41:42 AM
I'm really liking my new Crosman 362. I've done a ton of work on it, and it shoots accurately and functions smoothly. But I'm a big guy, and this mass-market rifle just feels small for me. Because it is. So a butt extension is in order.

As from the factory. So I mocked up a stock extension with scrap lumber and duct tape to figure what's comfy for me, and then get some measurements. This is how it all turned out...

To start, the butt and the pad are curved instead of flat, adding a degree of difficulty for fabricating parts that need to be square and true to each other...

So I eliminated that degree of difficulty. Cue one belt sander, and a bit of block sanding to finish up...

And the butt pad to match...

And then to fab up a few little items. 1/8-inch aluminum sheet, some aluminum round bar stock (turned to 3/4-inch diameter, 1.375 inches in length & center-drilled 3/16"), and some hardware.  The butt pad plate is upside-down.  'Scuse me.

Thusly...

And it fits! I can quickly throw the rifle up to my shoulder and not have to crane my neck to get a proper sight picture in the scope.

"Looks kind of gangly."

"Yeah, well, so do I."   8)

Nice mod 👍

I personally like an offset shoulder support like that.

I have one but it’s a Wokbutt by Talon Tunes attached to an AR A2 tube.

I saw this kind of mod on somebody's airgun here on GTA, and at first wondered if it would be sturdy enough for regular use.  But then of course remembered that we're talking airguns here, with practically zero recoil.  It's not a .300 Winchester Magnum, nor is it a combat rifle with the possibility of using the butt as a blunt-force weapon.

So yeah... I'm liking this mod.  It puts the rifle into my shoulder where it needs to be, and looks kind of techie.  I wasn't trying to make a C362 look like an Olympic-class Anschütz, but it's not bad.   ;)

I think it was on a Daisy but QB does have something similar to it 👍
