I bought this gun about 2 years ago. Never shot it much for several reasons. Maybe someone can help me some. #1 at 20 yds. it shoots 3 to 4 in. high. Front sight is not adjustable, rear sight is bottomed out. Windage is ok. Tried heaver pellets dosn't help much. #2 the grips don't come close to fitting my big hands. Thought about detuning, but dont have a clue where to get a kit. Can't seem to find one for this gun online. Any help would be appricated.

EDIT: My first response turned out to be (through no fault of my own---the poster mis-labeled his post as 5G instead of P5) erroneous, so I have edited out all of that information.
Here is a link to a blog about working on an old Diana 5G. Perhaps if you contact the author, he could help you. This guy seems to know what he's doing.

Hope this helps!

Also found the link for the technical info for the 5G:

Not sure how useful it will be, it is only general information.

my 5g shoots fine . but the rear sight is screwed all the way to the left .it hits straight the elevation is about halfway up. with diffrent pellets i have to raise or lower rear sight just a little but mine dont seem to be under or over powered . i wouldnt change anything except the grips ,like you i dont like the thumb rest .i think i will try to make some grips that fit my hand but good luck with yours mabe its not broken in yet .mine was a new in the box find but tis 1 of the older pistols and still breking in every time i have a session,it seems to behave a little better,so far rws superdomes and rws pointed extras seem to be what shoots best. mabe try diffrent pellets

also how is the trigger pull? check it and adjust for short light pull and use a 2 hand hold i dont hold mine tight just enough to manage recoil. the first few shots were high then when i went to a 2 hand hold they started going lower. and if its your first spring pistol it takes a little time to get used to it speccially if your used to a powder burner . i had to learn all over how to shoot mine as i shoot a high standard sportking and a ruger mark III pb this might not be your trouble but try and if that dont help mabe somebody on here has been down your road also

I've tried one hand two hand, and a rest nothing seems to help much. My 46M should be here in a couple of days. I somehow think it wont matter much when my new one gets here. Thanks for the imput.

Have woodshop already started a pair of grips out of cocobolo. Where did you get the sights you have on it. Really like the grip you have. Nice job.
