Title: Please help identify my air rifle
Post by: Kevin siler on February 28, 2025, 11:53:28 AM
I've had this .177 air rifle since I was a little kid. It's made in shanghai china and has only these numbers (m774645) on it near the rear of the breach. I'm new to this forum and need help with sending pictures. Please advise.

Hi Kevin,
It looks like a Chinese B3 underlever.

There have been a few variations over the years. Approximately what year did you acquire it, and was it new?

Probably the most famous unknown airgun ever made.  The legendary B3 thumb chopper.  During the lean years of my twenties my old B3-1 was my only airgun and it did yeoman work popping pigeons, zapping rats, perforating beer cans, and plinking.  35 years, a piston seal, two mainsprings, and a half dozen breech seals later it has an honored place in my collection of airguns.  Get a good one and keep it.  That's my advice.

Welcome to the forum.  Hang around here and it won't be your only air rifle for long. ;D

Welcome...
I can't count the number of times over that last 10 or so years that someone came to the forum asking for help identifying an airgun.
9 times out of 10 it turns out to be a B2 or a B3. It's to the point that I would bet money it's one of the 2 before even opening the thread.

+1...  B2, B3 always comes to mind.

My question is... with only one intro post how were you able to include a pic?
Normally it takes 20 post count before that is available.

OH... and WELCOME to GTA!
