I found another Lube sizer on the bay,
I put the minimum opening bid on it at 12.00pm, auction closed at 500am.
Woke up this am > 5am and found that I have won the auction..... ;D
then I see that it has been auto payed by ebay, using my card,
and is being shipped with a tracking slip, by a thing called AUTO PAY from Ebay > WFB.
Everything checks out OK.
I don't have auto pay from Wells FB, that I know of, Or on this WFB card or Ebay......
WTH is going on now, over 10 yrs with WFB/Ebay and this has never happened before.
I checked everything out with WFB and there is no problems to be found anywhere,
I found that there were several auto pay accounts attached to the WFB card, >:(
I have stopped this auto pay &^^&, ASAP.
I pay my bill when I know they are due asap.
Your thoughts and suggestions....
Tia,

When I buy something from Ebay or Amazon it auto pays with my card they have on file.

Started about a year ago for ME. I made a Best Offer on an item and the offer was accepted while I was at work. Can't normally access personal stuff like that at work so I checked several hours later when I got home. Once offer was accepted ebay auto-payed for me and item was already being shipped by the time I got home.
Initially I was PERTURBED. What huge stones they have! Then I realized it was a REAL and secure transaction AND it saved me a day or two in getting the item. My preference would have been to KNOW about the auto pay in advance. They probably DID send me a notice about the auto pay starting at some date but it was likely 3 pages deep in some boilerplate ebay privacy rules notice. Probably SHOULD read those someday but they give me a raging headache :-)

Maybe it's changed since that happened, now when I make an offer my payment method comes up before I submit, so, I kinda expected they were streamlining the payment process.
Everything about eBay pretty much uks now, add an s thank you. I gave a seller much deserved negative feedback and just noticed it's been dropped since it's been a year. They also buried the search for completed items (blocked it on mobile devices) and made it much easier for sellers to gouge on shipping.
Oh, ask seller a question, it's gone most of the time.

I'm not familiar with Ebay nor auctions, but if they have your card on file, and your bank does not have transactions 'blocked', then is it really auto-pay, so to speak?...
When I get on any website that has my payment method saved, and place an order, it 'automatically' charges the card?...
Pretty sure I'm not understanding the situation completely... :P

Exactly why I use Paypal linked to a separate bank account that I can move money in to cover transactions when ever possible. They can't take money that ain't there... ;)

Thanks guys
Bill
I have ALWAYS did what you said,
I have to authorize payment after I found out I had won an item.
I kind'a like the auto pay thing, but I am not sure about it, just yet,
as I keep a minimum amount on that card I use there, etc......
Tia,

This is a somewhat recent Ebay feature.
When you bid it should say " by placing your bit you're agreeing to pay " and something about " if you win Card### will be charged ".
It does not always do this for me on bids, but always does when I make an offer that the seller accepts.

I agree.. it should be a statement.
I would think they began doing this because often folks would win items and decide not to pay. They would need to restart the bidding or offer it to the next lowest bidder.

Well, I found another Item I have been looking for, so I'll see if this auto pay repeats again.....

It typically does for me.
Since my preferred payment method is saved it will say before hand " by bidding you agree to pay " and usually " care number### will automatically be charged".
I can't think of many times where I was autcharged without being told it would happen.

I prefer choosing to pay with the card on file to bypass paypal which saves time deleting several steps. It auto pays when someone accepts my offer on their item too. I'm cool with it.

I have my WFB card set up with PP and use it just for eBay, but when I did set it up there was a check box that said something like "always require approval" or similar. I haven't seen the checkbox in a while but I always have to approve it even on stuff I win. However, I generally just do "buy it now" stuff, or if it is more than I want to spend, I put it on my watch list- the seller usually provides a decent offer. I bought some Muck Boots for Sonja and myself this last week, and won some Lem's boots and a pair of LL Bean duck boots that way a couple weeks ago.

I just bought an item and I had to click on pay now, instead of the auto pay thing,
Seems like there is a screw loose somewhere??? ymmv
