Post by: KB7PYF on January 27, 2025, 12:47:02 PM
Hear ye... Hear ye!
Come one, come all... Casual Match #3 of 2024/2025 is open for business!!!

The Casual Match is a fun match. Shoot whatever you want at 10M (more or less depending on what you have available), use any position or rest that you prefer. See below for the details.

Rules are the same as for the 50’ Casual Match, except distance is 10M instead of 50’, using the 50’ target of choice.  If you are  limited to distance, shoot at whatever distance you have available. Classes are PCP Rifle, Jumper (Piston Rifle, spring or gas), Pistol, or Pumper Class. One entry may be made in each class.

Match #3 will run 2 weeks...  Start: 27 Jan with targets/scores turned in no later than midnight February 09.

The 50’ rules and targets may be found at:

http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=114644.0

Please include the following information with your entry:

Call name or real name
PCP, Jumper, Pumper, or Pistol Class
Air rifle or Pistol used
Sighting system
Pellet and caliber
Shooting position and/or aid(s)
Score
Pic or scan of the target shot please!

Have fun and enjoy shooting!!

Same here. I dropped the ball between hunting this past weekend (end of deer season) and the playoffs.

Might make sense to get a target in this weekend since the weekend after is superbowl impacted.

10m is 33', well within your 25yrd range (75') (22 m).

Ron is correct.
This is a fun friendly shoot, grab your shooting stick and put some shots down range score it - scan it and send it in!

I don’t scan my target, I take a picture with my phone & upload it.

So I see the link for the targets to download what size sheet of paper do they need to be printed on or am I missing something sorry if this question has been asked before

Good evening Joey, I use standard 8 1/2 x 11 card stock paper. I have found that the thicker paper gives a better cut hole.

Have fun!

When printing, choosing "actual size" instead of "scale to fit" makes a difference, especially in the xbull size.

Per the rules, 50 feet is fine. Shoot whatever distance you want. It doesn't matter - the whole object here is to get folks out shooting and as far as I'm concerned I don't care as long as you're having a good time. So I would say that that counts even if shot at 50 feet instead of 33 feet.

Have fun!!

Next time I will use a 362 that has an AO scope lol. I also got to thinking how fun a 362 bench rest competition would be ???

Had a great time shooting with my Dad.  The old guy beat me again.  I love how these pellets shoot. But I wish they would cut a better hole in the target. I'm going in for eye surgery tomorrow.  Maybe I'll be able to shoot peep sights for the next match.  We'll see.
Thanks everybody for shooting with us.  Many thanks to Charlie for hosting the matches.  I look forward to the next one. 😊

Another good time with my son.  It's enjoyable looking forward to competing with all of you.  I'm still hoping it warms up soon, think it will help my aim.  Thank you Charlie for running the matches for us.

Thanks, Charlie.

James, I like your 362 idea.  My 362 barrel is bumpkiss, but I might try for fun.  However, I've been shooting my crosman 100 with stock peep sight more and might put that up against your 362.  I seem to do better off hand than rested sometimes with that one, or maybe I made that up in my head.  Hard to say sometimes. [chuckling]

Hey John! I think you meant to post this in casual match #4! I'll be posting soon too! How you like the komplete?

Post by: Johnj on February 12, 2025, 03:27:44 PM
Yes , meant to enter in casual #4. Komplete seems to be OK so far. I have just been running it on CO2 and getting about 100 shots per 88gram bottle when hits start dropping

After yesterdays 10M exercise with the Komplete this afternoon I carefully weighed a batch of the pellets used so that they all were exactly 13.4gr, shot another target and came up with 194-4x ??
