Hard to imagine the cycles this old floating in space ball has gone through in it's billions of years in existence. Think about it, something wiped the dinosaurs off the face of it... and that is just one such event that we know of. There are even creatures that we believe survived that event, alligators being one such... I'm sure there are more. The term "prehistoric" is just that.. before recorded history.
