I been in the woods for 4 days.. the storms came thru and kept us hiding for 3 days.. but all things came together today... Repeat of last year... The daily double... Our county only allows us to shoot does on Thanksgiving weekend... Both neck shots for maximum meat haul...
I'm such a marksman ;) 80 and 100 yard shots With my 30/06... Dinner is served....... ;D
These are different than my Back yard buck toothed deck deer. ;D

Nice shootin' Randall! Glad you could get way and hunt!

Another successful hunt at the Ranch! Nice shooting Randall!
Plan on doing any more hog hunting?
-
Thanks guys... Harry the hogs have gone nocturnal now that the season is in full swing... it will be march before we get back on em.....
-
Outstanding shooting Randall and great pics. That's the way to do it, neck shots and no body meat damage :)

Those are some big dang holes hu..... ;D Kerflop......

Wow ok, we will have to wait until March for the hog action then. At least there will be more of them around by then :)

Wow that 30-06 did the damage! Holy cow! Nice shooting! Here you can shoot does anytime with a muzzleloader or bow. During rifle season it is allowed too, but there are double doe days and such.
I never knew that about hogs until just today! Both in your post and from talking to a friend of mine that shot over a HUNDRED HOGS LAST YEAR, that there is no reason to hog hunt again until March 15th! So that day is on my calendar to go hog slaying! :) Maybe I'll have saved up my money for my AR by then. :) He told me to bring down one of the bigger airguns. He thinks I'll be able to find a nice 40 pound pig that I can shoot with the TF Jet. :) One gun that will be with me is that lethal muzzle loader I own! :D
Again congrats on the fine take! That will be plenty of meat in the freezer! Do you cut them up yourself? I've seen other hunters hang them like that, but I'm not sure why. The only time I've helped hang one up is my friend Dennis butchers his own and I helped him hang up the doe from the other day.

WOW TALK ABOUT A PAIN IN THE NECK !! NICE HUNT

Nothings better then filling the icebox with meat, great hunt bro. ;) Ed

Great shots and a good couple of does there :) ! Way to go! That's going to make some good eating for a while. ;)
-
nice hunt.

forgive my city boy ways :D
but i understand the avoiding a body shot to protect the meat, but why not a fusebox shot just like the small critters. I mean PB'ers are plenty accurate, would a neck shot put it out quite fast or is there some reason just to avoid the fusebox?

nice deer, I my self dont take neck shots I always aim behind shoulder a tad over 1/2 way up double lung em they run no more than 100 yards
get to keep the liver and heart
and I LOVE neck roast my self
When we process our deer we bone them out and there is NO meat left on we use is all
but I love taking a fresh neck roatst and sticking it in crock pot with some white wine , garlic, taters, onions and corn and basil and slow cooking for 6-8 hours!
