Title: New to me Crosman 150
Post by: Pellet Fun on December 11, 2024, 05:03:13 PM
Picked this up in a local auction. It looks like the owner bought it new because two powerlets were still in the box of six. I went ahead and opened it up to check the internals out. It is missing the valve stem assembly. I already have a call in to Rick Willnecker to see if he has any and I’ll get a new seal kit too.

So far it really nice. No rust at all. I’ve wanted a 150 for a while now.

Love the 150s, I have a few of them. I also have a 157 but the pellets are too dang small for me. Now you need to find yourself a Ted  Williams crosman 150 and you're set! Enjoy your new toy ;D

Brother Wayne (R.I.P.) loved those things. I wonder what happened to his collection?

It’s a great simple design and I can’t wait to use it. It’s funny you said that about having a few of them. I told my wife it’s not unusual to have several of these because of the different models. Heehee.

Yes on R.I.P. We are losing too many old buddies. All we can do is our part. I have a 600 and Webley on my bucket list. I guess it never stops until we do.

loud? Sounds like fun. I belong to a gun club and we have a special facility just for air guns. Only real rule is keep it under 700 fps. Easily done.

That Ted Williams model is nice. Can’t keep them all.

I got hooked on Crosman 150s after seeing a picture of a Ted Williams posted by Wayne52 (R.I.P.). I went searching for it and bought the "regular" 150... I finally found the Ted Williams and bought it! Last time I looked, I have 2 Ted Williams and 10 regular crosman 150s...

I finally have enough time today to complete the parts installation. Are these 150’s known for accuracy? I’ve peaked through the barrel and was impressed with the clean rifling.

In my personal experience,  they are pretty accurate at 10 to 25 feet. Definitely soda can accurate. 10M accurate?  Might be but not so sure. The Ted Williams are the most accurate of the bunch I own. I haven't played with them in quite a while.

YEs, very accurate. 10 M with a bench rest you could easily get 5 shots inside a nickel with most decent pellets. Surprisingly the gun has a slight recoil jolt upward from the gas blast. Mine was able to get 450-485 fps with JSBs and FTTs on a  75-80 degree summer day.

After the seal job I went ahead and charged it. I couldn’t believe that it had that ever so slight recoil upon a test shot. I’m looking forward to some target shots. Almost forgot, so far no leaks. I’ll check it again soon. This little shooter looks brand new after a wipe down with a silicon cloth. All smiles.

Great pistols, I found my first one over 30 years ago. I don't even know how many I have any more. I like to take that first one, that was a little worn when I got it, to our farm and let whoever shoot it. There so easy to shoot. Many of our 3 son's friends have shot it and most anybody can hit cans off hand within a few shots. Having never shot a pistol before.
I don't think I ever even resealed it

Wayne and Brewbear inspired me to get a Ted Williams 150. It is a VERY cool pistol. I don't shoot it as much because it is rather loud for what it is. But for the occasional woods walk, it is delightful to plink pine cones, acorns, etc. Congrats on your 150.

Nailed it.
The 2240s are the replacement for the 150s. If you can't wait,  get a 2240 and blast away till you do find a 150. Then you'll have TWO cool pistols!

Very cool plinkers fellas. I do remember when Brewbear was collecting 150’s. I started paying more attention to them about the same time but placed them on the back burner.

Here we go again!
I have owned a 600 (still regret selling it!) and have always been intrigued with the 150.
I fell down the "Bulk Fill" rabbit hole with 112's and 116's instead. 4 of them are currently on the bench for reseal.

A Ted Williams 150 has been on my bucket list for a long time.

You should really pursue that one, it is worthed IMHO. They're not as frequent on the "for sale" sites but when the stars line up....

Anybody seen the 600 posted on gunbroker? Buy it now for$175. And according to the seller it works. It looks very nice and has the box. I’m not going to buy it if anybody wants to jump on this one.

If I didn't have 5 or 6 of them, I'd jump on it!

True that!
A 600 will eat pellets like no tomorrow!
There are still scars on the wall from when I got carried away with mine shooting indoors, trying to see how fast it would shoot.  ::)

One of my 600s decided to go full auto! It shocked the bejezus out of me!
