Title: Under $100 compressor!
Post by: Xraycer on November 25, 2024, 10:19:35 PM
Wow, just a little over $90 after you use the included 8% coupon! This includes the AC converter.
You can also get the Asurion extended warranty: $13.49 for 3 years or $17.99 for 4 years.
If I didn't already have my YH and cf air tank already, I would be all over this!
There's no reviews on this yet, and judging by the very low price, I'm betting this is a new product for this seller and this is the promotional price.

I get a $50 delivery charge. Looks GOOD but then they bring price back to normal with the shipping cost.
I think they are taking a page out of the Ebay playbook ;-)

Missed that! I'm so used to free shipping being a Prime member, I didn't even spot that. Still, $140 is still a good deal on not having to deal with a traditional, cumbersome water cooling set-up.

Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the pump I linked. If it works like it should, it would be so much more convenient than my water cooled YH rig. At under $150, I feel it's worth a try. I also paid an additional $14 for 3 years of warranty. Not much of a gamble at all for the potential significant convenience.

I can't remember who I bought it from but I got one last year for under $100 all in. It works. It's kinda slow. Maybe more convenient for travel but if they are both at the same location the YH is the way to go.

The YH is kind of a chore to set up to run for me. I use it to fill my 9L carbon fiber air tank. Fill speed is not really important to me. My plan is to use the electric compressor to top off the cf tank.

I received my compressor last week. Unfortunately, the DC converter uses a European plug, so had to spend another $9 for an adaptor. I could have just spent $5, but decided to spend a little more for a much beefier one.
I did top off the Notos, last week, using the included battery alligator clips to my car's battery. The battery clips are rather toy like quality, but worked fine. The Notos was at 2500psi, and I filled it to just below 3500psi. That only took about 30sec.
The fans, which are very power and very loud, goes on whenever the unit is plugged in. So, there's no button to shut off the fan, just a rocker switch to turn on/off the pump. The pump mechanism is much, much quite than a Yong Heng's. As a matters of fact, the fan nearly drowns out the pump noise.
This morning, I topped off my 9L cf tank. It was at around 3200psi. I plan to tether the 9L to the Notos for longer, non-stop shooting, so I only filled the tank to around 3500psi. I ran the compressor for 10min at a time, just to be cautious and as a means of a break-in period. So, three 10min sessions, raised the 9L tank 300psi.
So far, I am very satisfied with this portable compressor. So, so much easier than setting up to run a YH set-up.

Dinh, sounds like you got a decent compressor at a great deal!  As you long as you are happy and it does what you want it to it's a win win.

We'll have to wait and see about it's longevity/durability, but I am really liking this greatly smaller, quieter device.
