hello im new to the forum and new to pcp's. i just received my avenge-x yesterday and spent most of the day getting it setup and test driving it. 33% of my shots nearly went into the same hole and the rest of the shot spread was up to 2" at 25 yards off a bench rest . the pcp regulater was set at 2200 psi upon arrival. i tried it at this range with poor results then degassed and gave it a 1/2 turn from fully closed, it went to 2000 psi i dry fired it 3 times still it creeped up to 2200 psi. i repeted the process and opened up the regulator 1/4 turn dry fire and it went to about 1600 psi but gradualy creeped back up to 2200 psi. did i get a dud or is this what i should expect from a mid priced pcp. plan to spend som more time with it today. i am currently using JSB 25.4gr and JSB 33.4gr. thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom

Mine creeps up too but only after topping off or when it has sit for awhile. Which doesn’t sound like what you’re experiencing. You can turn up the reg while it’s aired up so I think I’d turn it way down maybe below 1000 psi. Air the gun backup, then slowly turn the reg up to where you want it. Might need to take a few dry fires while doing this.

Thanks I will try that, going to play with it this afternoon

today, day two was a whole lot better groups shrunk down to the size of a quarter only 2 flyers out of 80 shots I didn't adjust the regulator. i'm thinking it was just going through its breaking in period. as for the creeping it still creeps up to 2000 psi from just over 1600 psi. I will wait till I get a chronograph to adjust the regulator.
