Seems to me that I recall seeing somewhere that the Daisy 1894 is a pretty low power rifle.
I have 3 here that I rebuilt just for the heck of it that fling a BB maybe 100ft when fired level.
All have mainsprings that measured 7" free length or so. i think that is in the normal range.
New piston heads, bew abutments, even a new air tube in one.
One twangs like I remember mine doing as a young-un, the other 2 are more
muffled like a mikeB Hatsan springer...
I could see if my chrony would measure the fps...........
At least I can take 'em apart and put 'em back together........

When I resealed an 1894 a few years ago the research I found in the service manual stated 290 fps when resealed. I only got 270fps. I gave it to a friend's son and don't know if it gained any more later.They were never known as real powerful gun. I think that is because of the tapered compression chamber.
