Title: Benjamin 347/342 Tapered Valve Spring

i have always thought that the tapered valve spring in the 347/342 soldered in valve should be
installed with the large end in first, contacting the separator washer between it and the lighter check valve spring.

However, the nub on the valve poppet is too large to nest inside the ID of the small diameter end.
The old stems had a small diameter bub that did fit inside the ID of the small end.

Is this how it needs to be oriented, or is there any problem reversing it?

There is a revised spring with a larger minor ID.......
