Do the light pellets tend to shoot high at the same distance?
The pellets in question are .20 cal H&N FTT (11.42 gr) vs JSB Exact (13.73 gr).

Yes, because they are probably going faster than the heavier pellet, assuming that the same initial propellant energy is used for both.

Pat, out of my two ’Dans at 25 yds I don’t see much drop if any between the two pellets.

I should have added that it’s the same number of pumps (3), using the same gun (Blue Streak), at 33’.
The last time I shot it off a front rest was months ago, using the heavier JSB Exact pellets. Mostly I’ve been practicing offhand standing. When I switched to FTT pellets, I thought they tended to hit right and high, but I blamed that on me. That was plunking cans and a dead tree.
The last time, I supported it with elbows on bent knees, sitting on the ground. I used a paper target backed by cardboard mounted to a pellet trap, so it provided better visual results. Eight of the shots grouped about 1.5” high and about half that amount to the right. There were 2 flyers.
Yes, I should do it again with the gun on a stationary front rest, at 33’ and then 50’ and 66’. That’s the farthest I ever shot at paper targets with this gun, so beyond that I can’t compare results. I’d increase the number of pumps beyond that also.
Maybe at 75’ the two pellets hit at the same height but not at 33’. ?

I have found that no matter the weight and velocity, though at same output, the pellet with the higher BC usually hits higher and lower bc pellets hit lower., though I could be wrong and am just imagining such things. I have alot of barrels to send lead flying and usually the higher BC pellet has a higher poi.

It’s not only the pellet weights that differ. Upon looking at the specs on head size, I noticed that the heavier JSB Exact pellets are 5.1mm head size, whereas the H&N FTT are 5.0 mm.
Does this matter? It never occurred to me that the .20 cal pellets might be made in different head sizes!
In the P3, some pellets feel loose when loading and others feel snug. The Meisterkugeln tend to have some loose pellets and the R10 are more consistently snug, as were the Superdomes that I shot from the same gun.
