Title: Tom Gaylord's o-ring preservation tool
Post by: Robert 5mm on August 07, 2024, 05:49:33 PM
In todays PA Tom Gaylord's Blog he has a picture of an o-ring preservation tool to get by holes in the compression tube.

Boy I sure wish I had a proper sized one of these last time I was replacing o-rings on the Fortitude.

If somebody made a list of needed tube diameter / hole sizes, that is easy enough to create in Fusion 360. I could model up several different combos for various pcp's. I bet those would resin print nicely.

I made something similar with epoxy putty.  Mixed up the putty real well, then slid the valve into place (without o-ring) where there was a smooth section of it under the pressure gauge hole, pressed the putty in there (after first applying silicone oil as an anti-adherent agent) then carefully raised it up, let it harden and then used it to protect o-rings when installing the valve.  It stays in my "Crosman/Benjamin kit" of o-rings, bits and pieces.  Works great still.

I recall now that this particular vendor has been blocked by GTA for many years.

But from the vendor - it does not fit the Fortitude.
