Title: Finally Got Me A Daisy 1894
Post by: Ronno6 on August 06, 2024, 11:20:59 AM
I had one as a kid...t'was my favorite lever action BB gun.
I have kinda had a desire for one in the back of my mind for some time.

I purchased one that was in "excellent used working condition."
Wrong........
It would cock and fire, but not discharge any air.
So, the seller refunded my $$$$ and just told me to keep the rifle.

Upon disassembly it was found that the pump piston had broken and was stuck to the abutment at the front of the air chamber.
The internal feed block had to be removed in order to get the old rubber parts off.

After installation of new seals, and MUCH fiddle-farting, I managed to re-assemble.
IT SHOOTS !!

Bought one of those when I was 12-14 years old, about '64-'65,with grass cutting money. It was like $12-14.

That's the one that got me into the 'feeding the beast' part of the hobby!

Apparently the 2-stage cocking mechanism is pretty unique (reminding myself of positive facts about lesser used air rifles)
Feels alot better than the clickety-crank action of the red-ryder (no a'm not making these up..)

I had one as a kid. The 1976 bicentennial addition. I used to shoot it all the time. Then it broke and I cannot remember what ever happened to it. Fast forward forty years and I told a guy at the Field Target club the story. When I moved away on the last day I got to shoot with them he gave me a broken one.
As soon as I get settled after the move I go all the parts and it will chase a tuna fish can across the yard.
