I am a fan of Weihrauch and Diana. Diana 34 and 350 magnum were my first airguns and I later got weihrauch hw97k and hw35e. I would like to know how do Diana 34 compare with weihrauch hw 95? Weihrauch are difficult to get here in India.
Thanks

Hello, Kapil!
I guess you are kind of asking if you are missing out with not having a HW95 in your arsenal.
Basic stats are readily available online between the HW95 and the D34. They are in the same size and power ballpark, both have excellent (potential) accuracy and durability, and replacement parts are widely and deeply available. Both have seen decades of hard, productive use in many thousands of hands.
After owning and shooting a bunch of springers, like you have done, personal preferences trump any other factors, given a baseline of quality. I have owned a HW95L, and own a HW80, and am pretty disillusioned with the make, while I have a long list of Dianas, and want more. Others feel exactly the opposite, and they are not wrong.

Thank you for the response, I agree one can't really go wrong with either but somehow there is a weihrauch itch....

Buy the HW95 ;D

HW95L eye candy to help your choice.

I like both, but I like the T06 trigger of the D34 more.

My thoughts would be:
If you prefer Diana power, get another Diana. If on a the other hand, you prefer craftsmanship over power, try the Weihrauch 95.

They are both good rifles with good triggers and barrels. Given a choice I would want the 95. Is just a nicer rifle. The one big plus side for the 34 is that it is, IMO, the easiest piston rifle to work on, and yes I own a TX200.

I am firmly in the HW95 camp. The Diana 34 is one of the great spring guns but I far prefer the HW95. The T06 is a wonderful trigger on the Diana but not for me personally. I don’t hate it I just don’t gel with it like I do with Air Arms or Rekord triggers.

Buy them both! Don't be a cheapskate.
You need a buddy gun anyway. ;) Buy them both!

Mark,
As you know, airguns are a rabbit hole. If you can not afford both, can you really afford one? On my first airgun, I put a $300 scope on a $200 springer. Add case, pellets, etc.....
How many airguns do you have? How many do most reader have? All the guns mentioned are quality guns. See my handle for my airguns. I only do break barrels, everything else is just too weird! ;)
+ everybody needs a gun for their buddies to shoot.
Best,
-Yogi
PS do not even get me started on the rabbit hole that PCP's are. I wouldn't even do near that rabbit hole. :-X :-X

Good thread, the 95 vs the 34!
I currently own both, a 177 HW95 with an old R9 style stock which I have owned for years and a 22 Diana 34 T05 Classic which came from a friend at a price too good to say no. For me they are both very different rifles in terms of balance. I am 5’11” with an average build. I find due to the length of the piston that Diana’s are much more muzzle heavy and for me seem a bit more clumsy so I get a little more end shake. As for the 95 I find the balance a little further back to the middle of the rifle which I prefer. As for actual build quality I would say they are about equal really although Diana does employ some plastic but who doesnt now a days. I dont really see it as a negative. As for the trigger I prefer the Record trigger mostly because I am used to it and its familiar. The Diana I have is a T05 so took a lot of work to get a short clean break. I have not used a T06 so can’t comment. One thing I really like about the 34 classic is the elongated forend. I think it really makes for a clean slimming look compared to a standard 34 which I think is actually kind of ugly. I should add I do different things with each rifle. My 95 is set up with a 12x scope and it is my pest gun with dependable trigger that I can shoot just right every time. The 34 is set up with an HW77 rear sight so I can plink pop cans at long range. I even added some lead weights to the butt stock for counter balance. They are both great rifles which are nicely tuned and serve a different purpose for me. As for a friend of mine he does all his pesting with a 34 pro compact. I guess if I only kept one it would be the 95 but then I wouldn’t have my plinker.

Ignore the rough finish on the 34 butt stock, I have since cleaned it up.

My old model 34 is as well made as the R9 I bought last year, not sure it's fair to compare the newer 34's to a Weihrauch👍
