I liked the Vortek in my T06 .177 Classic

no buzz, no twist, no twang, just a solid thunk when fired

feels more like a gas ram than a spring

Power stayed the same as stock almost exactly....

Gone JM's GRT kit and Apex seal in my 34 .22. Very happy with it. No twang or vibrations. Shoots 730 with 14 grain.  ;D

Is one easyer than the other to install ?

IMO the same. The only difference on the install is the lubes used.

OK, I have the Lubes from Maccari already, so should I go for the Maccari kit ?

I used the JM moly(Vortek seal and piston OD)  and the lube sent with the VORTEK kit for the rest.  I am impressed with the Vortek feel.  If you get the Vortek use his seal as well.  The factory seals tend to be just jammed in there at factory so might be knicked.  This is a factory new seal notice the cut has  soot inside cut.  That did not get cut on way out of rifle

Have run into that myself Tom. I always have a seal on hand before I do any tune. You just never know even if the gun is new.

I have used both. They are both nice kits and really smooth everything out.

The Maccari Kit uses a nicely fit guide and top hat with the lubes to tame the spring.

The Vortek uses a inner guide with a second guide over the spring and a top hat to tame it. Just a different way of doing it. Vortek will come with the spring lube. As Tom mentioned use JM's moly for the seal.

I tend to use the JM kits more only because they are time tested. I think you will be happy with what ever you choose.

I've had allot of problems with Vortek kits losing power over a short period of time! IMO either get the JM or Steve Pope kit JMHO :P
Title: How long ago was that ???
