Title: benjamin hand pump isnt pumping
Post by: MustangMike on November 22, 2011, 05:02:13 PM
ya so today i get my challenger hammer and striker along with the trigger guard.. install when just fine. so i go to pump the rifle up for some test shots since i degassed it for the install and sure enough my pump will not pump into the disco.. after 4 or 5 pumps the pump pressure reads just over 2000psi but the rifle wont take the air.. any ideas on what i screwed up ?

the pump is obviously building pressure.  If you pump it disconnected pump is moving air out the female foster correct???

Did you have the fill end of the pressure tube off?  Something is binding the inlet check valve.....looks like you will have to take that back off and ensure the inlet is free

inspect item #37

make sure pumps moving air out the female connector first though....handpump snot can dri out and plug up stuff

Yup, either a blocked hose on the pump or the inlet check valve on the gun is stuck / blocked....

let me check if its pushing air out of the pump

also last night i had it filled to just under 2k and when i went to shoot the air out for the instal it was empty so i do have a leak somewhere but i didnt mess with anything since installing the mrod trigger last week and it was holding air just fine

pump is good, it moves air. not alot since it cant build pressure with it not connected to the rifle..

could a barrel band being put about 1mm behind the fitting on the rifle cause a bind ?

I don't think so but you could loosen the pinch bolt on it and see.  I still think you will need to check the inlet valve

im going to pull the fill adapter off and hook it to the pump and see if i can get air to pass through it. but i wanted to check if that was something that is ok to do

Getting ready to take the filling peice off the disco, is there anything I can use if it stuck to clear it up or is my only option to order a new one ?

well I would think its needing cleaning or something like that is making it bind and not open.  Unless its bent I would think it would clean up and free up
