Title: 362 AE compared to the original 362
Post by: Spooner on May 24, 2024, 09:23:16 AM
So, some of you have both the 362AE and the original. How do the two compare? The AE with the metal breach, Williams sight, and improved trigger are obvious improvements over the original but the original had other areas where improvements could be made that may or may not be obvious with the AE version.

Specifically... Has anyone dared to take one apart to see how bad the burr in the machined slots and grooves are? The infamous "clacking" when pumping, and the very sloppy pump arm the original had. Those are things I would think Crosman would want to address with a limited anniversary edition at it's original price point.

Just curious, if anyone wants to share.  ;)

The CR2023 has the breech screw moved back so it does not interfere with loading.

As far as a sloppy pump arm, I don't quite get what people are talking about.

Thanks for the reply Terry  ;D. When you open the pump arm, there was a lot of side-to-side loose play in the pump arm on the original. Tach Driver 10 fixed mine with a custom pump tube spacer he sent me, and which he suggested to Crosman as a solution.

My late reply is the result of really not having good answers…I generally dont go into my guns unless a repair is needed…as for comparing the 2 guns…the OG 362 is not as tight as the AE 362…but like anything both can be picked apart….I did put together a 367….because I like the platforms….I wish I had better answers, maybe your post will gain momentum…and your questions will be answered……good luck

Spooner,
 I have 2 of the C362 and a new C2023 #1424.
First thing that stood out,, the pump,, very very quiet pumping No Clacking here just very quiet  when the pump is closed. Another thing, the hidden breech screw is very nice No hangups or hiccups during pellet loading. The Williams peep is very nice oh so very nice. The front sight is very cool I think and has a very good shape during aim, can I find any of those front sights or are the a C2023 item only? My C2023 hangs on the wall but will be shot,, even today I'll get more shots through as this is my 2nd day with a C2023.  I got about 20 shots through and will send more lead down the range today

The brass trigger feels great, breaks just when I want it to. I've been using HNFTT 14.7gr 5.53mm does very good at 30 yards and the included 050 Peep sight< good when it's sunny and bright out. I also have the Twilight Peep 093 which is good in dimmer light.
