Well, I forgot about this paperwork that came with the Spritech VE3 compressor, my Friend just had to do a rebuild on his and he sent me this paperwork, he forgot about it too, apparently they want you to run a detergent solution through the piston and cylinder to clean out any particulates and then lube the piston and cylinder with Lubricant, they specify that you can use Synthetic motor oil, I'll use Silicone oil, according to the instructions, maintenance cleaning and o-ring replacement should be done every 50-500cc fills or 50 hours running time, I guess just the detergent cleaning would be done at least every 10-25 hours just to be on the safe side, rebuild kit parts are Available at Amazon.com,
after my friend rebuilt his compressor he said it ran much better than when it was new, he had also did a hone job on the cylinder with a brake hone he bought at Kragen, he said it honed very quickly, also recommends using a heat gun with some of the O-rings and flat plastic type seal for piston ring, he said to use a hose clamp for a ring clamp and the old green o-ring to hold the new rings in place.
here's the paperwork

Detergent solution??? What detergent solution?
Do you make it or purchase it?
Thanks,

I appreciate the post -- I have a very generic 12V compressor of a similar style -- it's manual says nothing about cleaning.
Does the manual say WHERE this "cleaning hole" is? Mine has no extra holes accessible through the case. There is a hole after removing the hose, I wonder if they expect you to inject the solution there?
"Detergent solution" is very vague -- my first thought was Dawn soap and water -- but that would need to be very thoroughly removed prior to reusing. Maybe detergent motor oil? Or one of those oil additives for engine cleaning?
It says to add the solution while the compressor is running -- sounds very messy... it's going to be shooting out of the hose hole I would expect...
If anyone has tips on maintaining these 12V pumps, I'm all ears. If not a cylinder cleaning/flushing, at least adding a drop or two of compatible oil seems reasonable...
OH...one question for all 12V compressor owners -- I bought my power supply separately -- I got one that was 12V 50A (600W) -- and the pump seems to run...slower than feels right. The power supply is slightly adjustable, and I maxed it out at almost 13.0V, and it sounds better. But now I wish I had gotten a 13.8V power supply, more in line with what a running car alternator puts out. Are yours coming with 12V power supplies, or 13.8V supplies? Thanks.

the Motor on my Spritech died, windings failed.... :-[ , I do have backup compressors, GX CS2 and CS3, unable to find the right motor for the Spritech and unable to contact them, they are not answering their Email through Amazon, wonder if they went bellyup due to trade war.....
