Another member saw me post that I pick up BB guns and such at yardsales and second hand shops. I clean them up and check them for function. Then I put them away until I find a kid that I feel would be responsible enough and, with the parent's permission, I spend some time teaching operation, shooting styles and safety. Then I pass the gun along to them and hopefully create a future airgunner.
This particular member contacted me and said he had a couple Umarex XPC C02 BB pistols he would like to pass along to these lids.
I received them today. A matching pair still in the blister packs. The kits came with the gun, 2 C02 carts and a pack of 250 BBs.
I opened one of them up to check function so I can match them with the right kids. Loading C02 carts and loading BBs in the mags will need to be assisted or supervised by an adult. The semi auto trigger pull is a bit hard but I think these will be fine in the hands of a 10 year old or older.. I will post pictures of the kids and post them when it happens (with parent's approval).
Thank you H25.

Good on both of you!! I gave my 5 year old grandson a Red Ryder. Along with safety, function and marksman lessons. The RR stays at my house and he loves to shoot with me. Cans at 15 feet are great fun. I also have a Crosman CO2 C11. He uses both trigger fingers to shoot, but he hits more often than not. It teaches sight control, even for me.

I've dot around 7 or 8 guns waiting for the right kids now. I have 3 kids in mind for guns but I think I need to let them get a year or so older first.
I've given around a half dozen away in the past few years. That don't sound like much but each one was a special experience.

About a year ago I was at a second hand store and I heard a little voice say "Hey, Mr. Bill". I turned a saw Carter with his grandpa. Carter said "Grandpa, that's Mr. Bill. He gave me my BB gun". That was a great feeling.

After receiving and testing one of these pistols for function, they are stashed away waiting for the right kids to come along.
