Is it as big a taboo to dry fire a BB gun as it is with a pellet gun?
-
Ronno6,
I once thought that but when it comes to multipump airguns i think all that happens is some of the oil in the tube and valve get released into the barrel, possibly causing the barrel to foul up quicker and making the pumpcup or orings need a drop of oil sooner? Just a thought/idea wo any evidence.

I basically refer to spring piston guns, either coil or air spring powered...
Excluding pneumatic,multi-pump, PCP and CO2 guns..

the daisy lever guns can be dry fired... millions of children have proven that!!! the quackenbush push guns can also be dri fired... i just think is that the spring is not as strong as a pellet springer... my .02

I have a Daisy Pop Gun that is made to dump a few drops of oil in then dry fire to make smoke, been shooting that for over 50 years.
