Well, I drank the coolaid and bought a Notos. The first time I shot it, I was impressed with the incredible accuracy. Truly amazing accuracy, but with a trigger that needed a bulldozer to pull the shot off. Also, it fed the first shot from the magazine very hard. So hard in fact, that I thought I would damage something trying to feed it. Subsequent shots fed very well, still haven't figured that out just yet, but it's on my list.
I own some nice pcp rifles, a Brocock Sniper HR, an R10 MK2, two FX Royales, a Katran, and HW100, so the Notos didn't really impress after the first outing, other than it shot tiny little one hole groups, so it sat in the gun room for a while, as I was too bummed over the trigger, and knowing it would take some work and still might not be any good. Fast forward a couple weeks, maybe a month, and I decided to either fix or get rid of the thing. First up is the trigger, if it couldn't be fixed, then, at least to me, it's a non starter. So I ordered a new sear as a backup and tore into it. I changed the horrible sear angle, to a more pleasant 90 degrees, and polished everything up nicely. The results were just "OK", nothing special. So, after three sessions of changing angles more and more, it still was ok, but not good. I was to the point of giving up, when I took the hammer out and realized that the angles were completley off and even though it took a lot of doing, I cleaned them up and HOLY COW!, Now that's a really decent trigger, and safe too. I don't use a scale, but I'd guess it to be under a pound and as crisp as they come. Now this thing is worth working on.
Now, the rifle is looking up in a big way, I'll tackle the scope mounting problem, the comb is simply way too high for me. A quick peruse of the internet revealed many risers to save the day and a set came in a few days and the Hawke 4-12X Airmax goes on the gun and I can finally see the entire view.
With the scope solved and the trigger worked out, it was time to go back to the range and shoot, which is out my garage door. At 35 meters, I could touch pellet holes all day long. This thing is quickly becoming my favorite rifle. So far, I think I've still got just under $300 in it. The bolt was a bit rough when I got it, nothing major, but it's smoothing out nicely now. My last issue was the magazine's first shot feeding. I'm guessing it's the pellet jammed against the holder that's causing the problem. I really don't see any fix for it, but, there are tons of aftermarket mags available, so I ordered a Maple Custom mag. When it comes, the Notos will have gone full circle, from being so-so, to making it into a fine rifle with really no bad habits. I'll likely fool with the tune later to see if I can squeeze any more shots out of it, but I'm getting a bit over 20 shots, and you'll think I'm lying but the ES is like 6fps over the entire shot string. I'll take that kind of consistency every day. I don't mind the low shot count, because it has such a small cylinder, it only takes a minute or so to fill, so it's a good deal. I don't want to add any bigger bottle because I like how light and handy it is. This could be the 10/22 of airgunning!
It was a good project to get the Notos up and running well. I think Umarex did a fine job on it. They hit all the right engineering decisions and came up with the best bargain ever in airguns. The Notos could be the next Marauder in terms of sales if other companies start making aftermarket parts for it. It's a gun that needs tinked with, and that may not be for all, but most airgunners seem to take that in stride. If you haven't shot one, the accuracy alone will amaze you. I've read all over the internet that the Notos has proven accurate in the vast majority of cases. Umarex must have known, hook them on how it shoots and they'll buy it.

Those Maple mags will be like icing on your cake. I got the 15 round ones and tuned my gun to run 2 of them per fill.
Best part for me, aside from what the OP mentioned, is that the gun loves my cast NOE 217 20 RF Hunter pellets.

I also added the Buck Rail M-Lok foregrip and put a full length picca rail on the bottom. I put a 3" picca rail on the right hand side. The foregip feels way better than just the tube and I can put whatever accessories on the gun I may want.

Rarely a day goes by that I do not take a shot at something with my Notos, Prod gets ignored sitting right next to it.

Congratulations and nice work! I have a Prod dedicated to ratting duties but the Notos is calling from afar...😂👍

Randall..
I dragged my feet on buying a Notos and when I finally decided to jump in, they were all gone. To satisfy that itch I ordered the Jet 2. That gun didn't play out for me and as fate would have it, the Notos came back in stock. I sent the Jet2 back and grabbed a Notos... so glad I did... it's a great little gun that shoots like one twice the size and twice the price.

My 2nd Notos just left the house. Took 4 minutes on AGN to sell lol.

I must admit, that's one of the reasons I bought it. I knew if I didn't like it, that it would sell easy. But, as it goes, I'm guessing it won't go anytime soon.

Been able to hold off on the Notos purchase. Ive witnessed many hot buy purchases through-out the years from forum members on different ... flavor of the day guns and held off.
I guess that's why i own pistols and rifles that i do.
Will see... don't count me just yet

I don't usually jump at the newest thing out, but twice now it's done me good. I bought a Katran without ever knowing anything about them except the salesman at UA, and I can't thank him enough for pushing me in the right direction. I had some curiosity, and he answered every question I had and more. Anyway, the Notos was popular and I was curious, what can I say, I love it. I'd like to have one just to mod and keep the other one stock and shoot it.
By the way, the Maple mags arrived and they are night and day better than the factory. The last piece of the puzzle for me. I only wish I'd gotten higher capacity ones, which I may well do.
