Title: Daisy Buck
Post by: Matchstickshooter on March 21, 2024, 06:30:10 PM
Took my wife South (80 miles) for her checkup with the Cancer Dr.
My bud met up with us and had a yard sale find for me.   Oct 2020 made Daisy Buck that looks almost new.
Only thing I can find  is a little spot where the finish rubbed on the corner of the stock where it sat in a cabinet (?)
It even had the rust free Daisy bb's in it.
Lever looks like it wasn't used...new.
 No paint missing anywhere.

Good score.
I don't know what they cost currently,  but I've bought more than I can remember over the last 10 years when they were $17 at Walmart.

Fixed sights that I can't do much with
From across a room it shoots an inch high to the left.

I fixed the Buck sight problem on this one by filing or grinding the fixed rear sight down flat. Then gluing an adjustable model 25 Daisy sight from JG air gun on with E6000 black glue.  They could be soldered on, but the glue holds fine.  Also raised the front by super gluing a fiber optic front on.  Needed better sights after grafting a longer 499b shot tube in this gun and extending the barrel shroud.  I too bought several $17 Bucks at Walmart back before the inflation of every darn thing hit.  Got them just to modify with Cobalt power spring upgrade kits and made some adult size stocks.  They are super accurate repeaters shooting 375-80fps instead of 270fps as the stock ones do.  (http://)

Van that is a sharp idea!
I just got a 499B front and rear stock set from Daisy for my Western Auto Model 1000. Want to add weight down the front to steady her.
After reading your post, my interest is peaked! A 499B barrel for my Red Ryder would be Super. Hopefully reduce the Coke can accuracy to a 50 cent piece. Thanks, more later
