I ordered a few parts from Vortek on Monday, Vortek is less than 100 miles from my house and the parts won't be here until end of day Saturday March 2nd. I think it's ridiculous packages take so long to arrive from such a short distance away, 5 days? REALLY? Somebody at USPS need to get their butt in gear and stop taking it so easy😬

Before you blame USPS, do you have the tracking history from the USPS? When did they actually receive the package?

This happens a lot. If the vendor doesn't submit the package to the carrier, the carrier can't deliver it. I've seen a several day difference between the tracking number being generated and the shipper actually receiving it from the vendor.

I normally don't have issues with any of the 3 major delivery services. I mean, they are people too and let's be real.. we all have faults... even in our professional lives.
I was waitng for an Amazon order for some M-Lok screws. It was due to be delivered this morning. I got an e-mail from Amazon before 8am this morning.
It said, ALERT: there is an issue with your USPS delivery. Please contact USPS for details.
I called our local PO and Amy answered the phone (small town, everyone knows everyone). I told her about the email I got from Amazon. Before I could even finish Amy cut me off.
Oh yes Mr. Garney... one of our route drivers accidentally dropped your package in another driver's bin. When she realized she was missing a package we all started looking for it and found it. It's on the right driver now and you'll get your package this morning.
I forgive them. I'm just glad an AI robot didn't answer the phone.

I'm waiting for a gun I purchased from another member here. It was last seen departing a USPS facility in Mississippi on the 26th and then it disappeared into limbo. It will probably pop up somewhere like Ketchican Alaska or King California in a few days. It's happened before. Kind of amusing watching this stuff ping-pong around the country. :P

I guess I over reacted in regards to USPS, Vortek didn't even ship it until Wednesday the 28th @6:24pm????? I'm just excited to get my rifle back together 👍

What I finally realized is that when I get the alert … item has shipped …that just means a label has been generated…Ive had instances where I got the ship alert and carrier might not have gotten package in a timely manner…now a days I just order and fingers crossed wait for it to hit the door…good luck
Just recently I got an order quicker from Canada than I did from Texas and both ordered same day….lol

I myself don't mind packages arriving later than expected if updated properly but I what I do not care for is when they say a package is arriving on so and so date but you are tracking it and see there is no way it is arriving on said date and the parcel service does not update the arrival date until the date it was supposed to arrive has passed....waited all day, took day off from work, cancelled an engagement.....just want good clear communication....

I'm surprized all the package carriers do as well as they do most of the time.
Had one coming from the plains states. It got to Jacksonville, FL., 125 miles from here, Savannah,Ga. Five days later it was in California. Five days after that it was back in Jacksonville again and to me the next day. Being a retired truck driver I enjoyed tracking it around the country.

Sounds like your package saw a lot of country!

When I bought a scope from AOA (a day’s drive from my home), I ordered Saturday afternoon. Notice on Monday said USPS was awaiting arrival of the piece from the vendor (shipping label was ready). They got it on Tuesday evening and, after the normal sorting and travel legs it arrived at my PO on Thursday morning, two days earlier than USPS’s estimated arrival date.
Most of my USPS shipments underpromise and overdeliver. A few vendors send directly from their local PO to my local PO due to location, with arrival times proportionate to the distance involved.
UPS has been a real crpshoot. At best they are on time, but sometimes they keep changing the date to push it later and try to get me to upgrade my shipping service level! Other times the package goes on a weird back-and-forth route that makes the total distance several times the direct distance. UPS was pretty good when I lived less than an hour from a big city. Out here, USPS has been better.
