Title: Umarex NOTOS - no brainer.
Post by: avator on February 11, 2024, 12:15:23 PM
Warning: GRAPHIC !!

I noticed the squirrels out digging up nuts this morning so I opened the shooting window on the North side of the Red Shed and settled in with my "NoDoze". I was sitting there with a mag loaded up with the 14.3 CPUM pellets waiting for them to return after the sound of the window opening chased them up a tree.
I saw a bit of action off to the left of my backstop at 30yds.
A chipmonk.  A fearless one at that.
Head down and facing me he presented the shot. The pellet made contact and completely cleaned out the fusebox. It gave one short quiver and I saw the ghost leave the body.

Betty Lou frowns on me shooting the chippers. She say's they're too cute. She don't know the destruction they do. I don't shoot them when she's watching. But I make a mental note of where they are.   ;)

Hi Bill.

Good shot with your Notos on that one.

Chipmunks and Red Squirrels have done a lot of damage around my place in the past.

Now days I keep them in check.

Best Wishes - Tom

Bill, one of the best chipmunk frontal lobotomies I have ever seen, your surgery skills are to be commended! 😂👍

Well folks , here in PA it's almost 50 deg.s but there's a winter storm watch, possible 5-8" of snow issued for Monday ! The critters are out & about , saw a G-hog  in the wheat field , a chipmunk on the back farm road tree line & starlings & pigeons " fornicatin" on wires & silos ! I popped a few starlings & sparrows this am & then retuned the Hatsan Factor RC for 50 yrds heavy ammo in anticipation of upcoming chuck hunts. Later on I'll get set up for 75 w/ slugs.  Crazy weather has trees budding & spring flowers out like Late March / early April ! Those NOTOS sure seem to do the job .

I actually brought Betty Lou a fistful of bloomed daffodils yesterday. Bright yellow and full bloom.

Thanks Tom and Randall.  That guy didn't even see what hit him. I know that looks like a crime scene but I'd much rather see lights out like that rather than the death dance.

Bill,  congrats on the NoDoze’s first blood!  I’m sure there will be many more, for the price they are crazy accurate!

That's OK, I am sure your dogs can see them or at least hear the little ghosts ascend  :)  You 've probably seen the Youtube videos where dogs bark and growl at the wall, doorway or hallway, and get scared (and usually hide) when no one else is home, or just the owner who is with the dog.  Probably the ghost of an animal they or their owner killed in the backyard haunting them  ;D

They also hear many things we don't hear. Maybe even voices.   ???

Oh yeah, I am grateful for that. I am also grateful that PA worked with me so well about swapping the poor shooting Jet II with the NOTOS. The NOTOS was the gun I wanted in the first place. When they went out of stock I had little hope that they would get them back so quickly.

I feel like my transition from PB to AG has me leaving Larry (MidwayUSA) for PA...lol
