After getting the cobwebs blown out of my DF1 I noticed with the added muzzle break this gun really needed a barrel band, not sure if it would help or if anyone even had a 3D version available for a not longer produced gun.
Looking through the odds and ends boxes I came up with something that would work and was easy to customize.
Irrigation drip line end closers. :o ??? 8)

I cut a notch for the pump linkage to clear, then slit the top one to open it up and fit over the barrel. I was thinking of drilling and taping the folded over top ring, into the OE front sight, Then decided to see what could be done with a heat gun and molded the plastic in place.
No mor POI shifts as I was getting at times prior to the mod. 8) ;D

Hey James
Sounds like you solved a problem. 8)
Question for you, wouldn't the front sight from a DF II, have worked just as well?
I don't know for sure of the bbl diameter on the DF I model, I measured .468" for the bbl diameter on my DF II.
I have been looking for a used/new DF I to add to my collection........ ;)
Tia,
Don

I will take a measurement, I also think there is a reduction in diameter under the front sights, so exposed barrel may not be the right size. ???

I had some electrical tape serving a similar purpose. Most of the time I've had it, the rubber barrel band of electrical tape was there.
Ended up taking it off/out. Can't remember why.

No cobwebs on my Artemis LR700W (aka Dragonfly Mk1 in the US) as I shoot it quite often.
I had ordered it some years ago at Krale, with a threaded muzzle adapter intended to receive an LDC. So I had to remove the front sight (heater, patience and cautious hammer) but I replaced it with a spare part -ugly but efficient- from and old gun. As the barrel outer diameter (12mm as far as I can remember) was slightly smaller than the adapter inner one, I had to wrap some Teflon tape to compensate the difference, and wrap some self amalgamating rubber tape over the adapter, just to prevent the very small rub screws to escape.
Then I bought the cheapest, lightest and smallest moderator from a German well known retailer, the efficiency of which I had already checked.
Except some trouble with the valve poppets that drove me to a general disassembly and reassembly mess, I've now been using and enjoying this accurate rifle for quite long.
And as for the efforts requested to pump this rifle, well, though over 70 y.o., I consider them acceptable, till 6 strokes. Got to admit the seventh and eighth ones request some stamina...
