Title: New Airbug .22 Cal
Post by: H95Kidd on February 08, 2024, 12:50:39 AM
Just got a new Diana Airbug today, in .22 caliber. Pyramyd Air (and Midway as well) finally got them back in stock. I got mine from Pyramyd, very quick delivery after ordering. The pistol looks to be finished reasonably well, in spite of the Chinese manufacture. Blueing is nicely done, the wooden stock is very plain though. Trigger not bad, breaks "kinda" crisply after adjusting the sear, but a little too heavy pull weight in my opinion. I don't think there is much that can done in terms of lowering the pull weight, so I guess I'll live with it. The rear sight is PLASTIC! That kinda not worthy, how much did Diana save over an all metal sight? Those dang Bean Counters...they have to get their mitts into everything it seems. No matter, I mounted up an old Leupold/Gilmore 1" tube-style red dot I had on the shelf, so the "precision plastic" rear sight is gone and safely stored away. I shot the pistol a bit this afternoon, just to get a little trigger time in with it and get the Leupold dot roughly sighted in. Seems OK in terms of accuracy, just shooting offhand, but I'll do some serious testing (from a sandbagged rest) with several different pellets in a few days or so. I do have one question about leaving a half-expended CO2 cartridge in the pistol for a few days...is this OK, or can this potentially damage anything? If this is OK, do you just fire your last pellet of the current session, and simply leave the bolt closed when you store the pistol? Or is it mandatory that you shoot till the CO2 cartridge is fully expended and remove it?

OK to leave them gassed, yes clear all ammo.  8) Have fun!
