Title: New Crosman 1701p
Post by: Gramps-Too on January 01, 2024, 10:50:23 PM
My 1701p arrived Saturday (12-30-23) this is my 2nd PCP gun the other being a Beeman 2027. I filled my 1701p to 3000 psi (gun gauge) and let it sit for maybe 18 hours, the pressure was 2800 psi, this happened twice. Today I filled it to 3000 psi and 2 hours later it was at 2800 psi. I don't know if I let it set longer if it will go below 2800 psi but guessing it would last at least 24 hours. Question, is this normal or should I return it for replacement?  Thanks

The air is hot when you pump it in.  As it cools the pressure will drop slightly.  You can top it back up and see how it holds.  It should be the same after a couple hours as it is a week later.  If the pressure continues to drop over the course of the week you probably have a leak.

Normal . If it leaks you will know in like an hour or faster because it’s a small air tube

Filled it last night when I was done shooting to 3000 psi. Went down about 1 pm to check it was was maybe 2900 psi. So I filled it to 3000 psi again and this evening at 6:30 pm when I went down to shoot it was still at 3000 psi. How my mind is at ease.
