I am just finishing up my PP700SA moderator adapter. I was thinking it needed a thread protector. Instead of machining one, I decided to design a simple printed protector. Since my adapter has a flange, I made the nut as wide as the flange at 25mm, and as thick as the threaded section at 13mm. I added some linear "knurls" to give some grip to the nut. I can't post the stl, as it seems to be way too large for this forum at 28MB. But here's a picture of it next to my moderator adapter. It's nothing fancy. The threads are not printed perfectly for a no tap fit, I don't know how to do that. I just run a 1/2"-20 tap through, which only shaves off a little peach fuzz. The nut spins on nicely onto the moderator adapter.
