Hello, just entering PCP realm of air guns with my first and only(so far) being the Air Venturi Avenger .22 cal for a big iguana issue*. Did not know air guns have advanced to where they are now, after looking for backyard friendly pellet rifles with easy follow up shots. Grew up shooting an old Crossman pump .177 at 11-12 years old which still works till this day. At the time I didn’t know it ,but that little rifle taught me some valuable fundamentals of shooting in general: how to shoot with iron sights, shot placement, understanding how to zero in and mount a scope, the list goes on. Love the accuracy of springers and break barrels unfortunately with me being 28, but with a that body runs like it’s 80, I needed alternatives. Also being a new dad to a 2 month year old, having a Karen type neighbor that’s best friends with the HOA president right next to me(our houses are divided by like 1ft or so, and the "dang" iguanas all contributed me to jumping the gun on one and explain to wife later why it’s necessary. So far,im in love with the concept though I’ve only had time to put maybe 80 rounds or so through my avenger, it’s exactly what I was looking for and more, my god it’s accuracy. A bit louder than I thought even with the Donny extension and sumo mod but that’s probably cause I’m still shooting factory setting on the shot regulator which is like 2.8-2.9 psi from what I can kinda see. I’m guessing if it’s tuned it for eco mode it would quieter? Also a bit heavier than what I needed it for but after slapping a bipod and scope, great bench gun and laser at 50 yards pretty sure can go out further. Although my main goal was to just purchase a lighter, more compact iguana eraser, the damage was done, was hooked. Until I move to Alabama in a few months for work, just wanted to get into the more budget friendly PCPs that are truly backyard friendly or can be turned into, that will give me a great entry to understanding PCP guns overall. Once in Alabama I’ve already got eyes on big bores, a leishy, and probably a daystate to test pcp air guns to their maximum capacity. No I’m not rich, just haven’t had a hobby since 24, no vices really, still have some old habits from growing up poor even when now money is not an issue, I still look for the “best bang for your Buck” type of deals before jumping in deep into something. Forgot to mention but another reason of purchasing my first pcp without researching more in depth, my brother gifted me one of his compact air compresssors that he specifically uses for his paintall guns. im a bit skeptical about it being a knock off(saw it on Amazon for like $250? but the Yong Hen Air compressor Ive seen in videos are a bigger version that needs you to put oil and some cooling system. this one allegedly is oil/water coolant free, auto stops at certain pressure. used twice so far but any info and advice on that would be helpful and much appreciated. Any tips or advice for someone completely new to this realm always welcomed too. *the reason i hate iguanas( broward county specifically, they are EVERYWHERE) After seeing the damage they can do: I love green mangos when still sour/crisp and planting roses, well so do the iguanas with roses being like crack to them.My backyard has a canal behind it and saw about 3-ft of my neighbors ground that leads to the canal’s water just collapse into itself, didn’t know they like to burrow and lay eggs along canals until I closed on the house. They always to go after birds and nests/eggs, which causes a domino effect of the birds trying to defend their nest, while they're distracted a cat/the occasional gator will jump into the chaos. The final straw was witnessing one the size of a small dog/corgi, which i threw ketchup sized rocks at its vicinity and it was not even bothered when i walked about 5 ft from it and all the sudden it whips around just to eat another small iguana, decided these demons gotta go. Wanted to say hello and good night
