Well, the good ol' USPS has done it again. I shipped a small package to Washington State on September 4.
It cleared the locak distribution center on September 5.
Made it to Honolulu, HAwai'i on September 6........wow! That was fast!!
It kicked around there a few days, then left Hawai'i on September 11.
Then......................VANISHED !!

Oh, just don’t. I have a FWB124 OTW. Via USPS because the twits at UPS wouldn’t take the “firearm”. It better get here.

UPS itself will ship pellet rifles, but they can make you jump thru so many hoops with documentation that it is a real hassle.
The "No firearms" police being applied to air guns is typically a privately owned and operated UPS access point....they can play by their own rules...
As for my package, it actually "left" Hawai'i on September 7. The September 11th update stating that it is "In transit to the destination" placeholder....

Yep. Had that happen recently. GA. To Dallas. To N Houston, 70 miles from me. Then back to Dallas. Back to N. Houston. 11 days from GA. Last week they said one was in Van Vleck. 8 miles from me. Next morning showed going back to N. Houston. Except when I got back home it was there. Wonder why I’m nervous about one I have to be home to sign for?

It's all just part of the airgun experience.

Ron,
It pains me to admit it but I was once a letter carrier.
For a short period between the Air Force and the FAA.
42 years talking to airplanes.
Yesterday I shipped a priority mail package to Texas.
I was in the Vacaville, CA post office.
The chick almost let me confirm the address she typed but I saw enough of it.
I asked a question, “How come the Post Office doesn’t use the +4 on the zip code, like I have it?”
“I don’t know”.
Then I have a 2nd question, “Are you ignorant or just plain stupid?”
The supervisor was walking by and he waited for an answer before relieving her!
-
Mr. Frank,
Did you ever get an answer??

50% of the world is below average boys and girls. I get daily reminders of that fact.

No..
I know what it is used for but the sorting clerks at the hubs don’t use it.
Only the local sorting clerks do.
It just identifies the side of the street.

Well.........
It only took 3 weeks, but the package has surfaced in............Appleton, Wisconsin...
On its way to Washington state.
If it ever gets delivered, the buyer will either have to return it to me (at his expense) or pay for it agein.
I had previously refunded and replaced it (new order)
Ya just gotta love the USPS..........well, NO, not REALLY..........
-
Ain't that what the USPS insurance is for?

THAT would be a bargain......
It made it to Denver last nite. Departed Denver last nite AND departed Denver (same zip code) this morning.....
Is the buyer gonna receive 2 ??
At least it is heading west again.....

FDX lost my 40lb 5ga bucket of oil. Makes you wonder how heavy a package has to be to not get lost or stolen. ::)
-
The package was delivered yesterday....1 month after shipping.....
-
The latest these scumbags have done:
I am just back from the P.O..
I shipped a little something to Scott (Motörhead) to help in his recovery.
While in line the clerk (sic) sees I have a $20.00 bill in my hand.
No cash.
Just Debit Cards or credit, I am told.
Why?
Wait for it….
“We ran out of money.”
Now that is the way to run a business.
NOT!

I mailed a USPS MO to a member 2 weeks ago..........it's Nowhere, Man.....
-
Gotta love a small town. Even the USPS employees are local and known among the community.
I didn't check the mail yesterday because the app said I didn't get any. We went out to breakfast this morning and I stopped to check the mail on the way back in the driveway. Trick or Treat, the mail lady had put a few pieces of Halloween candy in the mailbox.
Think about that for a minute.... even if there was no mail to deliver she stopped at every mailbox on her route to leave a few pieces of candy.

Any of you have packages show up as delivered on USPS site when they're actually not and are in the mail box the next day? Has been happening to me lately.

I had a couple packages "delivered" while I was HOME waiting for them. NO ONE came to my mailbox on the front porch so I KNEW the notices were WRONG. One package was never found. Only a $13 car part which I was able to recover after a claim. NOT porch pirates! I'm certain delivered to wrong address.
When it happened the second time i filed a missing package claim and requested to talk to someone. Actually got a call-back with little help. Drove over to local post office and made the complaint in person. Supervisor-like person seemed to dismiss my claim until I asked if he could VERIFY the address delivered to. He said he'd check the GPS data for the delivery address and call me at home. About an hour after I got home he called and sheepishly admitted the delivery GPS LOCATION DID NOT MATCH MY HOME ADDRESS. He said the driver was attempting to retrieve the package for delivery to MY address.
While we were talking I heard a THUMP on my front porch. With the supervisor still on the line I went to the front door to SEE my package in the middle of the porch and the driver running back to her vehicle. I waived and shouted THANK YOU then told the supervisor thank you for his help.
I had other words in mind but kept them to myself. That would not have helped. The good news is they haven't repeated those errors in the last 8 years.

Have had that happen a couple times, but not recently.
-
Once had a substitute mail lady drop a package on top of the trash can near the gate at the fence. Betty Lou saw her on the security camera and went out to retrieve the package. I did have a package coming but hadn't received the "out for delivery" message. I saw Betty Lou waving the driver down on her way out the driveway. She got the house number right nut the street name was on the other side of town, not our package.
-
Got the package today that was supposedly delivered yesterday so all is well despite the aggravation.
-
Well, it wasn't USPS but it was Amazon. These folks have taken to hiring just anyone to make deliveries. Kinda like Uber or Doordash they use their own vehicles. They claimed they delivered a package to me yesterday and posted a picture showing the package at the back door. The problem is that it's not my back door and I have no clue who's back door it is.
Their issue reporting system is automated and nowhere in it can you type a descriptive message. It's all questions with multiple choice answers. The final result of that contact was a prewritten message that often times mis delivered packages are delivered to the right person by the folks who received them in error. If that don't happen by tomorrow at 4pm. I am to go through the automated process again.
F THAT !!! Go get my package and bring it to me !!

Amazon has gotten a lot worse lately! I have had packages delivered to the wrong address also. Luckily, I don't live in the middle of nowhere and know my neighbors, so as long as it makes it somewhere on my street, I usually end up getting it delivered by a neighbor! Lately, when I've ordered the initial shipping shows it to be delivered by Amazon, then it switches to another carrier. I was supposed to have a package delivered by Amazon yesterday, it never arrived and when I check the status through Amazon, it's not showing a UPS tracking number! Sadly, UPS has no record of this tracking number, so no telling if it will be delivered or not, or when. Used to be if an Amazon Package was not delivered by the promised date, you could contact them and receive a gift card credit, I don't see that option any more...
-
Yes, I have received a shipping refund 3 times in the past year for late deliveries. It seemed funny to me because I didn't consider the packages late?
I've studied the picture that twinkle toes posted and I can't recognize that dwelling anywhere near us.

Mystery solved...
Betty Lou and I went out for breakfast. We were driving up the hard road that leads to our dirt road and I just couldn't get the image of that building out of my mind. I passed our dirt road and went to the Venue at the Runway that is located in an old converted hangar at the airport behind us.
I pulled in and was greeted by Darryl's (owner) wife. She was cleaning up from the wedding they hosted last night and preparing for another event today. She asked if I was there for a package.
She said she was going to bring it over after she got the mess cleaned up. She was pressed for time trying to prep for the event later.
I thanked her and didn't take up any more of her time.

Just when you thought the saga was ended....
This Amazon order was actually 3 items but apparently it departed from 2 different Amazon warehouses.
The package that was misdelivered contained 2 of the items. The one due today had the 3rd.
As we were just finishing eating Betty Lou said there was a vehicle coming down the driveway.
I stepped out in my sock feet and asked that he just leave the package on the trash can near the gate.
He asked if I received the package from yesterday (he obviously knew too much). I told him I did go get it after figuring out where it was. Then I asked if he was the one that delivered. He said no, that his wife did.
But as I was looking down at his feet, ole twinkle toes must have been afraid I was going to cuss him out and threw his wife under the bus.... either that or he and his wife share the same flip flops, shorts and feet. Those feet are pretty unmistakable.
I asked if they use gps. He said no, Amazon makes them use their app and it's always wrong.
That makes no sense to me at all.... I have a mailbox at 60 Runway Rd, just like the address on the package that was delivered to an airport hangar on Airport Rd without a mailbox at all.
Furthermore, what was different about the delivery instruction from yesterday the the ones today? Same order, same address, same instruction.
SMH

Just to be fair.... I've been purchasing from Amazon for several years and this is the first time I can remember that a delivery was messed up. Yes, I have received things I returned for one reason or another but, I never had to go find my delivery.
-
I've studied the picture that twinkle toes posted and I can't recognize that dwelling anywhere near us.
I can't stop giggling. hehehe
Glad you finally got your package.

Yeah, I can't imagine anything worse than having to study a picture containing a man's bare feet. Those particularly.

There is still hope for the Post Office. I got some meds today from the VA today that were mailed in Feb 22. Figure that one out. ::) ::)

Good grief. Thursday night USPS said the custom Buck knife Kim ordered was delivered to a PO Box in Fulshear, TX. Only issues being that we don’t have a PO Box and Fulshear is about 70 miles from where we actually live ha! Called Buck yesterday and their shipping dept. is looking into it. Checked tracking mid-day today, still had same info. Checked mailbox couple hours again and guess what was in there?! Tracking info still says delivered to PO Box in Fulshear. Absolute idiocy.

They can sure get Amazon to you fast.
The wife has 2 prescriptions from Meds by Mail that were sent from Kansas on 11-24 came to Houston then to Livingston 90 miles north where we live then went to Missouri City Texas laid there till 12-3 then showed moving through the network until today and now says accepted by Houston. So meanwhile she is out and we'll see if it comes back to Livingston.
Just crazy.

Amazon must have some incentive for on time deliveries, that or they have penalties for late deliveries because the USPS even delivers Amazon packages on Sundays! :o

Sounds about right. The N Houston Distribution Center is the black hole of the entire USPS system. Always where the trouble starts. I’m from Huntsville so I know Polk County ;). Hope y’all get your package soon. The Buck got here yesterday so we’re good. As well as the Cometa for our future SIL. Delivered on time to the correct place by UPS. I’m to the point I’m going to stop buying from places that only offer USPS shipping. Sad.
