I'll settle for Two Hearted Ale.

Sounds like fun! I remember that New Braunfels smoke house was good. I liked Oma's but I don't think they are open anymore. :P

A week long celebration of wieners and sausages.........

Ron,
Thanks for posting about going to TX and the New Braunfels at Krauses Cafe & Biergarten, next time I'm working in Shertz, TX I'll make stop by there for a dinner & drinks. The Biergarten reminds me of Germany and a lot of good times when I was a kid. I loved the Oktoberfest, Kris Kringle Mart in Frankfurt and surrounding towns and it is even fun more as an adult.
Have a great trip!

Returned today from Fredericksburg to Santa Re ((near Galveston.)
My SIL had to stop at a grocery store near his house, and i stopped in at a pawn shop.
I saw an RWS Mod. 48/52 in fair shape with a $200.00 price tag.
Got it for $120.00 out the door......ya just never know......
-
Nice. Been wondering if I need to poke my head in pawn shops. Now I know.

The immigration arrived south of Galveston and made a path to the northwest up to the Hill Country.
There is a very strong German and Czech influence thru towns such as Rosenberg, New Braunfels and Fredericksburg.
If you like the German cuisine, you will be in heaven........

Buda is Czech, Gonzalez is Friesland, Poteet is Polish, New Braunfels is Tyrolian, and Gray Forest is Alsatian. You can find some amazing places to eat in central Texas. Waitrek's meat market in Poteet is probably the best place in North America for Polish wedding sausage.

I'd like to see a great confluence of Czech breweries commence in Texas; though I'd settle for some truly local Texan Slivy (Slivovich). Beer goes great with brisket; Texas BRisket is how cook mine, and Czech beer (IMO) is the best... hence two things I truly enjoy together!
