I know I've posted about this TalonP before, but I can't find the post... So it gets a new post. Imgur is down, using a new image share site... Hope it works.
Gun details:
DIY TalonP stock (it's just a throw lever added to a TalonP stock, with a Wokbutt)
TT heavy hammer with slap mod
Shortened .22 barrel (wanted to get rid of choke)
Clague LDC
Roller bearing Trigger
OAL Collapsed: 29.75"
OAL Extended: 32"

Very nice!

Oooooohh!! I need to get one of those butt stocks for mine. Mine is in 25 but thinking about switching to 22 so all of my AG's will be the same. What scope?

At the risk of hijacking your thread Tom (good thing we are friends:), I thought I would offer up a TalonP/Escape 'stock' option here. I'm looking to gauge the interest in a collapsable wire stock that keeps the compact, light nature of the TalonP intact and offeres adjusting for length of pull or compact storage. Materials are 6061-T6 aluminum and Stainless Steel.

IF there is any interest, I can move forward with builiding a few.
PM me directly please.

I am interested but am a techno dunce and can't figure out how to PM you.

Thomas,
Back to YOUR thread. (averting eyes and walking away slowly while whistling)
I'd love to hear your opinion on how quiet the Clague is on your TalonP as the TalonP is notoriously loud for what it is. (least mine is) Also can you post a link to that roller bearing trigger? Is the 'throw lever' on the other side of the stock or did I miss something w/o my glasses? And last of all, have you had a chance to shoot any groups with this setup? Did you set her up for all out power, or for tightest group? I'm betting she groups 'clover leafs' all day long at about wheel setting 4 with a just shy of full bottle.

Whew, this one sure got put on the backburner! LOL Okay- went a different way with this build... LOL
It's getting put back to a .25.
I've been inspired by the Airforce's (the U.S. Airforce) survival weapon, the GAU-5A. Google it, because I don't think I can show a picture of a PB here.
Key takeaways of the GAU-5A: Very compact and collapsible. Does so w/o tools. Very compact package when collapsed.
I want a affordable, compact, quiet powerhouse that packs a wallop out to 50 yards easily, and will quickly and easily assemble and break down WITHOUT tools- all w/o losing zero. I also want to build it in such a way that it'll be easy to replicate, should anyone wish to build something similar. Or as inspiration to build something better!
Here's the idea:
Folding AR grip
Edgun Behemoth QD LDC
Convert the tank from the standard AF set up to one that uses FX parts, so it's "QD"
.25 cal
CF tank (just to hold more air)
LPVO (maybe a 3x red dot with BDC reticle?)
That's where I'm at now, I've acquired a few of the parts, the Behemoth and the CF tank. Plus the AR grip adapter and AF threaded LDC adapter. I'm going to work on the FX bottle parts now... That's really the key component in all this. While I do like the new valves because they're FAR easier to fill and I can see how much air is left, I really do miss the ease of the original bottle set up. Anyhoo- just wanted to do a tiny update.
-
After much consideration, and back and forth with some buddies, I've decided to forgo the FX bottle adapter idea. I think they're right to say that the FX parts will be a bottle neck, and the size of the plenum would negate any benefits from a short TalonP length tank, and also the QD nature of the FX parts.
So this won't be as compact as I'd like. An option of course, is to simply plug up the gauge port and fill nipple port, and run it like an old school tank... Not a HUGE problem, but I'd simply have to carry another THING with me (the fill adapter). It IS a thought though. Plus it's cheaper, as I've already got a fill adapter. LOL
I THOUGHT I had a 12" .25 bbl all these months (years?), well... Turns out, that is NOT the case. So I had to buy one. That sets the project back a little. But hey- this project kinda stalled anyway, so does it really matter?
As all of my projects do, I've made some changes to the original idea:
- Metal bottle. I'm using a bottle clamp butt stock, plus the nature of the gun- It's a "knock around" gun. Just makes more sense. New one is a 350cc bottle. So it's still small, but holds more air than a standard TalonP
- I'm using a Saber Tactical adjustable butt plate adapter, so I can use their adjustable butt plate. I have one left over from my FX adventures, and didn't want it to go to waste.
- Dropping the FX QD idea. Maybe one day I'll re-visit the idea. But for now, I've dropped it.
- I'm adding a Texan shroud. Kinda. It'll be a shortened shroud, and will only be used to cover up the gap between the frame and the LDC. I really don't like how the joint looks.
- I'll be using the newest, most up to date Condor valve, instead of a TalonP valve. People have been noticing power output of the newest valve to be higher than the norm... Might not make a difference, since the barrel is so short though.
That's about it- I'm currently waiting on the new barrel to come in. I should have this together within the next week or so. I still haven't decided on an optic. I'm still leaning towards a low power optic w/a reticule... Like a 3x prism sight. I know I want something compact, but than a red dot. Just not sure what will work. The BDC reticles are cool, but aren't calibrated for airguns, so they're kinda useless... Except scope reticles aren't really "calibrated" for airguns either. I dunno. I'll figure something out. I wish there was a prism optic that has an etched 3x (or 4x) mildot or milrad reticle... THAT would be infinitely more useful than a BDC... I haven't looked in a while. Maybe there is one.

Nice compact little POWERHOUSE! Have fun with that lil beast Tom!

I considered exactly that when I got my TalonP. I even drew up some designs, but ended up going with a MadDog instead.
I do think a colapsable stock would be a good deal if done well.
