The only app I use is PayPal. My wife likes to online shop and it's tied to my one credit card. It also pays a small dividend for using.

PayPal. You can friend-to-friend or family-to-family free. Even for a business, it is not that much more that most of the other options.

Doah!  :o  Sorry  :D

I guess just go with what the majority of them are using or open multiple accounts with multiple payment gateways.

Seems to me that if someone wants your business they will work with you on method of payment. Last thing I would do is pay cash.
Most reputable business owners accept several payment options.

I  go with check or Postal money order. Debit card if ordering from Ebay or a company online.
If that ain't good enough I don't need their product and they don't need my business.
I have had two go arounds with PP in the past. Won't happen again.

I have a reloadable debit card from Walmart for all my online purchases.  I also linked it to my PayPal account. I don't use my regular credit cards for online purchases.

That's how I do it.. kinda. I have an account set up at my bank with a debit card linked to it.. I keep a minimum amount in it to keep the account open and transfer enough in to cover purchases. I link it to my paypal account so I get double back up. So far paypal has supported me in the couple issues I've had and I have yet to require support from my bank.
I use checks to pay my rent. The landlord has to sign and cash the check. Paper trail.

If I remember correctly, Venmo doesn’t report transactions to the IRS. Not sure how long that will last though. The IRS wants to know where every dime goes so they can get a piece.

Venmo and Zelle are the 2 most popular. My wife and kids uses Venmo. I'm just in no hurry to get into it.
I was also in no hurry to get a cell phone until the wife became pregnant 20 years ago. Now, I feel naked without my phone  ::)

I have counter checks, regular checks, my e-wallet which is linked to Google Wallet and all the other silly "wallet" apps, but the only thing I use is PayPal, which is linked to my banking account via my CC, which provides several nice layers of protection.  I opted for this route a while back.  I've spoken to my financial advisor and he said it's about as safe as you can get thanks to a lot of e-protection.

Yes, I'm getting old, but more and more I'm seeing a generational gap -- just tried to buy popcorn from a friends kid's fundraiser -- no Paypal option, but they have venmo...  How many psuedo-secure money apps do I need today?

I really wanna to start a $#!+storm about venues and shops that are cashless.  I realize it's not the "cashier's" fault, but boy that torques me off on so many levels.   Pass a law.  This is US Currency.  You can't not take it.

Personally I'd prefer never to touch cash money. I consider it among the germiest things on Earth.

I don't not so good my thumb any more.  Cash money is filthy - I get it.  But I have a flip phone [by choice] and can't to the 'Just point you phone at the square Sir.".  If I am in a situation where American money is not accepted, SCREW that - I walk away.

Friend of mine went to pay a debt in cash, they refused to take it, he was relieved of the debt in court as they would not take his legal tender :)

My fixed income check goes into my bank and I use a debit card exclusively. I have a separate card set up that I transfer funds into for online purchases. I pay my monthly bills through paypal.

It is becoming more difficult to use both CASH and CHECKS.  It may eventually put the holdup guys out of business.  Such a shame!

During COVID-19 a guy that works for me pushed it.
The store refused American currency.
He walked out with a full cart of groceries and won in court!

I assume they all do ,so I always tip in cash…..if given the chance I put it directly in the servers hand…

The only problem with tipping a server directly is that the establishment may have a policy against him/her accepting tips and him/her may lose their job if caught. I've seen this happen.

Im willing to take that risk…I do what makes me feel comfortable…it’s the servers responsibility to inform me of policy….and i will gladly abide……Im done ..lol

Didn't mean to make it controversial. Just joining the topic. I will admit that having a twenty tucked away in he wallet can be handy

My wife worked at a place that automatically added a "Gratuity" to the tab... but my wife, doing all the work as a server, got none of it.
The "House" kept it all.

When I was still a teacher, I once told my students that I kept a $100 tucked away in my wallet in case I got held up by someone who had a pistol shoved in my face.  I was going to hand over the $100, and hope we both parted HAPPY!
