Title: Weihrauch HW 75 VS IZH 46 M
Post by: Air biscuit 456 on November 11, 2011, 04:19:52 PM
Hey guys, wanting to get either the HW 75 with the target grips (not the 1911 looking grips) or the IZH 46M. They run about the same price. The IZH 46 is more of a true competitive target pistol while the HW 75 if im right is more of a target plinker.  I plan on doing both 2 hand and 1 hand shooting so the HW 75 has grips for both while the 46 has the one handed only competition grips which is ok but like said i wanted to shoot 2 hands also. For those who handled/shot both which one seems more substantial in the hands in terms of build quality, weight for the money spent? I know im off topic but a benjamin disco just had a cheapy feel when i handled it.... does either have this feel. For almost $500 does either have that quality firearm feel such as a Beretta or Glock feel and not a toyish feeling? Feel free to add comments that i have not asked about. Plus what kind of accuracy does both have? which one is better in terms of accuracy? Thanks.

I currently have the IZH-46M and can assure you that it is a very high quality, solid pistol.  Extremely accurate and quite durable.

I also have a Beeman P3 and hope to get an HW-75 soon.  They are all three different guns each with a place in your stable :)

The 46M is by far the better 10M target pistol but the P3 (and i would guess the HW-75) are far more fun when just plinking.  The P3 and the HW-75 (P2) are actually quite similar.

That's my story anyway.

Air biscuit 456,
I have an IZH 46M and shoot it only two handed.  You can use your left hand to grip over the three fingers on your right hand on the grip or grip over the cocking lever which is just under the right hand on the grip.

I have a 46 and Beeman P1.  The P1 "feels" more like a real powder burner when shooting.  The 46 is pretty much recoilless.  For the most part, the P1 is the go to gun for fun while the 46 is for pure target shooting.  Due to CTS, I shoot both of them with both hands.  If I could have only one, it would be the P1.  I also have a stable of .45 ACPs and like the ability to switch to the many variants of grips available.  Neither feel like toys in you hands.  I've had my P1 for about 20 years and the 46 a year.  Keep your eyes open, there's alway deals popping up on the used market.
